Good for Hagman to stick up for himself, but he got REALLY lucky to get away without getting called for instigating a fight with a visor. Krajicek had no idea that he was in a fight at first, but Hagman was unable to use that to his advantage. Nothing doing in the fight. Draw.
Oh, and Ohlund did a wonderful job of helping welcome Kessel back to game action. Hell of a hit.

Krajicek gets the nod, more edge than win, but did a good job working some uppercut action. Hagman almost jumped him but not really. he dropped 'em first, before Krajicekknew what was going on, but waited until he had his attention to go to work. I don't think it's the most honorable thing but I sure didn't lose any sleep on it.
Anyone got a clip of this monster hit everyone's talking about? edit: here's one Last edited by ToxinX; 11-04-2009 at 12:05 PM. |

This is what really bothers me about the NHL now.
Ohlund DOES HIS JOB and lays out Phil Kessel. Good, clean hit. Forgive me but I am having trouble seeing the difference between this hit and the one on Shane Doan by James Wisniewski the other night cuz they certainly looked very similar and the result was the same, both guys knocked out of the game briefly. Wiz gets 2 games and Ohlund won't. Hmmmm. Anyway, Stajan comes charging over after a CLEAN FOCKING HIT and wants to start some shyt and takes Ohlund off the ice with him. What a crock. This is where the zebras need to step up and give an extra penalty to whoever starts these "scrums" after a clean hit. hey, if you can't take a clean hit, keep your head up or go sell shoes or insurance. Kajicek and Hagman was a purse swinging contest by 2 visored fruitcakes but Krajicek gets the better of the brief exchange. Here is yet more NHL hypocrisy where Hagman gets dumped on an interference where Krajicek was probably trying to steer him away from the goalie, which isn't a dirty move you dolts, it's his job, and Hagman happens to fall. Shyt happens. hagman blows a gasket and in classic fashion drops his gloves and grabs Krajicek. Classic instigator and a visor to boot. I understand getting emotional in a sporting event, been there, done that but these are supposed to be pros and if the zebras let them get away with it, it's only a matter of time before a Colton Orr or someone does the same thing and will get tossed or he will seriously hurt someone because he thought he wouldn't get penalized for instigating. It's a double standard and needs to go away, either call the damn rule or don't! This isn't flipping the puck over the glass by mistake and getting a retarded delay of game penalty, THAT should be a judgement call, instigator penalty shouldn't be. Hey, another year, another brutal display by the overpaid, undereducated NHL refs who have ZERO accountability. It's happening in every sport worldwide and it's a joke. Anyone watch baseball in the last month? LOL

I know the double standard of the NHL shows again. He clearly forced Krajicek in the fight. Yet doesnt get the bettman package

Mikebflorida: You are a Tampa fan, aren't you? So what you're saying is Stajan was wrong in defending his teammate who just came off a long layoff due to a shoulder injury? It WAS a clean hit, but Ohlund knew Kessel was coming off a a serious injury. So Stajan was just supposed to let it go? The NHL needs more players like him. Non-fighters that will stick up for their teammates. As for Krajicek, you can clearly see he intended on sending Hagman into the net. But I guess not through your homer goggles..

Oh and I agree Hagman should've gotten the instigator. I don't like that it's there but since it is, they shoulda used it.

Ohlund is not a dirty player at all, he never has been. It just so happened that it was Kessel skating with his head down and Ohlund nailed him. It could have easily been anyone else and I guarantee Ohlund does the same thing, he stepped up and nailed the oncoming Leaf, it's his job and he did it perfectly and someone from the other team has to start some shyt? It's stupid. On a dirty hit, sure, on a clean hit, NO! If Ohlund hits Hagman or Mayers or any other Leaf, would you be saying anything? I'm a hockey fan buddy, I root for the Lightning sure, but I like a lot of teams and players so don't even go there with me. As for the "hit" on Hagman, I've seen much worse than that and Hagman fell like he was hit with a cannon. Gimme a break and yes, I'd say that about anyone. The fact that you quoted me just means it struck a nerve. Get over it.

For one, I never commented on the Hagman incident except I AGREED with you that he shoulda got the instigator. For two, the Leafs suck.. I'd like to see my team sticking up for eachother. And its not like Orr went after Ohlund. It was Stajan, 1 career fight I believe. Tanner Glass?
