Tampa Bay at Toronto 1/3/12
Vote: Nate Thompson vs Luke Schenn Jan 3, 2012
Nate Thompson vs Luke Schenn Cameras get there as both guys are coming out of a mini scrum with gloves off. Schenn starts throwing lefts and lands about 10 straight while Thompson tries to get situated. Schenn throws a few more and Thompson falls to the ice. Looked like another opponent for Luke Schenn who had no idea he was a lefty.

All Schenn in this one as Nate ordered the'ol knuckle sandwich!
Good to see the Leafs start the NewYear with a fight early, especially with Rosie and Orr sitting, Brown hurt, and Phaneuf being Phaneuf.

Just a bad night overall for the Lightning. When they finally get fed up and try to start something, Nate gets flurried to the ice. Boucher's rule of keeping the gloves on really hurts the Lightning sometimes, they just don't get enough practice in really fighting and it shows when they actually do fight. Malone and Downie have won a few fights this year but not only do they not do it enough, they aren't very good when they do drop em. Sigh.
Douche Phaneuf was trying to get Downie off his game early and it worked, Downie spent 20 minutes in the box. Win Schenn.

The one's I really hate are guys like Phaneuf, who play a tougher game and initiate fights but always wear a visor and almost never take it off. This fight was spontaneous and obviously one guy wasn't worried about throwing punches while the other one clearly was. Not hard to figure out which one was which.

this fight they both had visors at the start, but thats not what i was referring to. often times his opponent doesn't have one and he keeps his on. care to argue against taht fact? i also just asked when thompson started wearing a visor, because he, unlike schenn, actually has more than one fight without plexiglass covering his face. when guys on other teams fight with visors they get dogged. i guess schenn is immune to such criticism? |
