Tampa Bay at New Jersey 3/7/08
Nick Tarnasky vs David Clarkson
Tarnasky finishes a check on Clarkson, and Clarkson grabs a hold of Nick. Tarnasky drops the gloves, while Clarkson hangs on. Tanrasky waits for Clarkson to get his right glove off, then throws 3 or 4 jerseys. They trade rights, then fall to the ice. DRAW Clarkson recieved an extra 2 minutes for holding. Dan Boyle vs Zach Parise These two are jousting in front of the net and the two light weights fire the mits away. Both men do a ton of wrestling and attempting to get the visors off. Boyle lands a few short rights, as Parise mostly holds on, and Parise's jersey comes off without much of an effert. They go down, and Boyle sneaks one more right in on the ice. Boyle gets 2 for instigating, 2 roughing, Parise doesnt get a game misconduct for the fight strap that clearly was'nt tied down.... however the rule is, if there is an instigator there is no Rob Ray rule...Allright. |
Draw. I don't think any punches landed.
|
Draw, not much happend here
|
Zach Parise vs. Dan Boyle
Parise hits Boyle with a questionable slew foot. Boyle gets up mad and goes after Parise. Boyle immediately gets the jersey over Parise's head and lands a few nice shots. Parise responds with a couple but nothing much lands. The two grapple and throw a few more before the fight ends. Edge Boyle. Boyle got a 2,2,5,10 |
Zach Parise vs. Dan Boyle. Parise first fight of his young career
Did pretty good for a young guy I was shocked when they said it was him. Maybe if we are lucky we get some more. |
I never thought I'd see the day....Zach friggin Parise! Not a bad scrap but Parise was tied up in his jersey and both guys were trying to get each other's helmet off, pretty much a draw but great to see Zach drop them and not just turtle.
I'm not sure about the instigator on Boyle, he did pretty much force Parise to fight, but it still seemed kinda weak. |
Dan Boyle vs. Zach Parise
Boyle and Parise are battling hard in the corner, Parise looks to have slewfooted Boyle then Boyle skates right at Parize in front of the Lightning's net and decks him with a hard left gloved shot, Parise dropped to the ice. Parise got up and Boyle immediately jumped him and Parise dropped his gloves to defend himself. Boyle landed a couple weak punches and ripped off Parise's jersey and got it all the way over his head so that it wasn't even over his head, only his arms were in the sleeves. Parise attempted a couple punches throughout the fight but nothing serious and Boyle didn't land anything worth while either. Mostly wrestling and eventually Boyle took Parise to the ice. Spirited scrap but more wrestling than actually throwing punches. Draw |
Dan Boyle vs. Zack Parise
Shocking to see these 2 go. Pretty good bout in terms of spirit but NOT too good in punches landed. Boyle started this with a clean "Gloved Punch" to the face. They each landed a couple in tight. DRAW... Boyle threw an uppercut while they were on the ice also. David Clarkson vs. Nick Tarnasky I missed this one. From what I hear, it wasn't much but I'm still pissed cause I love Clarkie. :( |
Edge Boyle...... i thought it was a typo when i read that these 2 fought
|
Yeah, very skinny edge to Boyle on 2nd view, but u can say DRAW. Man... Rupp & O'Brien would be nice to complete the "Fight Night Hat Trick."
|
I didn't notice them calling out Clarksons name later in the third. I'm wondering if he was benched or possibly got injured.
|
He's been dropped to the 4th line, so he's not seeing as much action, especially late in a tie game.

A good game, Tarnasky vs Clarkson was a weak fight to me.
Not much punches here as they had a grip to each others. They was more long to each others. A couple punches by Clarkson, one or two more by Tarnasky. Nothing good landed here. A draw. Another fight was a big surprise as Boyle and Parise took a fight. Looked pretty even fight at the start to the end as they wrestled, but Boyle was bit active puncher. It wasn't enough for the edge as he lands one punch at the start. Parise comesback later to throwing a nice punch but missed of it as Boyle threw back, missing it of the target. Boyle with the takedown. A draw. |
