Stewart takes this one.
Stewart could be considered a top power forward but doesn't do this enough.

Looked like a draw to me, I don't think either guy landed anything.

Clifford is just 21 years old and had some concussion-issues. With all the hype and things going on about concussions it's understandable that he might rethink his role as fighter and isn't as motivated to do it then some years ago.
IMO the Kings rushed him into the NHL to early. They should have given him more time to develop overall. Anyways. Draw

Ever since Clifford was dropped last year by Reaves he hasn't had a great record in the fighting department, and to think people thought he could be a better then Engelland in the fighting department and wanted to name him rookie fighter of the year last year. How things have changed.

Unfortunately, no one does it enough these days... not even the enforcer. |

Chalk it up to getting rung too much to end last season? or bad luck? or that his run last year was just a fluke? or something else?... I dunno what it is! But I don't see any reason to be hopeful or excited about him in the fighting department anymore. But his regular game is ever improving so there's that (which we forget on this site is more important). But I just don't see him becoming the beast we started dreaming of when he was on his fight win streak. I don't think he got any bigger physically and he appears to have lost his touch; not a good combo. But he checks, has some hands to score, and brings an effort every night. I like him on the team. Just don't get excited about him eating people up. |
