It was surprising to see that Boll really wanted nothing to do with Staubitz until it was clear that Staubitz was going to fire away whether Boll was ready or not. Kinda lame on the part of both, I thought. No need for Staubitz to jump a guy like Boll. No reason for Boll not to expect a response. Staubitz goes to the box, The Jackets get a power play, Rob Blake gets hurt on the kill, the Sharks can't clear, it's a Jackets shooting gallery until Nash finally puts it in from a sick angle. Blake is done for the night, and so is Staubitz. Guessing that McLellan decided to bench Staubitz for the third, because Shelley was still getting his shifts.

That uppercut was huge, but it was a glancing blow. The replays at the Arena showed it to catch the helmet, and barely at that. The big rights at the end when Huskins was down were dramatic, but ineffective. One also glanced off helmet, the other missed by almost a foot. No doubt Boll won the fight, as Huskins was hopelessly mismatched, but nothing was connecting. Huskins would have been hurt pretty badly I imagine if they had, because Boll was throwing real bombs.

Boll definitely got the better of Huskins in the first scrap to pick up the win, but those big attempted punches at the end all looked to be off the mark.
And Staubitz might have gotten in a shot early in the second scrap while Boll was keeping the gloves on, but otherwise those two didn't get much going despite the length of their tilt. Draw.

I'm with the majority here, that last shot by Boll in the Huskins fight was a glancing blow, if anything. Huskins is probably lucky that didn't connect, that may have been lights out.
I was waiting for Staubitz to start using his forearm smashes, but oh well. Long, drawn out fight, refs should have been in there sooner. Draw.

True enough. Boll was really throwing hard, but upon replay was missing big time. Either way, Huskins was way overmatched. |
