I will get flamed for saying this, but I think that was his only shift. After the PP, they used Hall-Talbot-Ruutu on a line. I think BGL will be a scratch for most of this series and with Detroit speed may not be a bad move. McCarty isn't going to fight him and he isn't that physical.

I don't think you'll get flamed at all. Actually, I was mighty surprised that M.T. dressed Laraque over Roberts.

Yeah which was smart but I don't know if Mccarty is afaird of BGL, or Babcock doesn't want any fighting unless people are getting ran. I love that Kronwall is laying people out still.

C'mon, there was already two linesman and players between them along the boards. READ THIS before flaming, I am fairly confident in saying BGL would defeat McCarty if they fought, but D-Mac aint scared, thats for sure.

Your boy was frightened, Jeff. I don't blame him.

More likely under orders from Babcock, but you are entitled to your opinion.

BGL would most likely win that fight, but I don't think McCarty was scared. He probably just knew it would be a long shot for him to win, and didn't want to give up any momentum to Detroit.

Im not ripping Mccarty for saying no but dont make excuses like the refs were between Them. Laraque wanted him up the ice then during the faceoff, he was clear as he's ever been on that point. Laraque fired up is someone you want to avoid and early in a home game Mccarty getting smeared isnt going to help the cause.

Im referring to when he was shaking his gloves and yelling at him to go.

Wings beat the piss out of the Pens in every part of Hockey tonight. Pens should be ashamed at that display tonight.

Laraque got on the ice more then just that shift and he challenged McCarty again later in the game but quickly got called off the ice(don't know why the puck just droped)

I highly doubt it was the fact that McCarty was scared of Laraque. Thats kind of laughable.

The only reason Laraque was fired up this series is the fact knowing worse comes to worse the toughest guys he will have to fight are Downey or McCarty if Downey gets a chance to play. That would fire anyone up especially a spot picker like Laraque(start the hate you Pens lovers)

Isn't it funny that the only time the Citys in Pennsylvania follow there teams anymore is when they are making a run for the Cup? Flyers lost to the Wings in 96 when Philly were all over there nuts and half of those "fans" no longer follow hockey in 2008...the same can be said for the 13,000 that piled into the Mellon Arena tonight. Maybe 6,000 will actually still support the Pens in 4-5 or6 years.

Do you know what's really funny? It's you not knowing the difference between "there" and "their."

Laraque is a spot-picker? That's funny, too.

You're a real peach Snowball. I often rip Laraque and can see his faults. Being a spotpicker isnt one of them and by stating it is shows you are talking out of your ass. As for the fans rant..once again talking out of your good side.

I hope you're joking. McCarty got bitched because he was afraid to take an ass-beating. Is that too hard for you to comprehend?
