I guess they could waive him, but the team likes to carry a heavy.

And by the way, how many fights does Scott have? And one was against Brookbank?
scott has two...but i've called him out for lack of fighting this year as well. though westgarth has more options than scott does.

as for the contract, that won't matter. if he isn't doing the job then, he needs to be sent down or let another team try to remake him as he has fallen far down the ladder. but seeing what we all have seen this year, do you really think a team is gonna pick him up? personally i don't, but hey you never truly know.

also carcillo will not be activated of IR for tonight, but targeting a Friday return

Marcus Kruger is out as well, so maybe, just maybe Scott will be in

Scott is in and playing on the 4th line with Mayers and Frolik (according to Adam Jahns and Chris Kuc...beat writers)

Scott and Westy should be on. Also expect to see cliffy and Jamal. Sleeper fight in this one will be Fraser V Montador (Fras an ex hawk and looking to prove management wrong)

Everyone is talking about Westgarth not fighting (and with good reason, because he should be) but Bissonette is probably worse, what the hell is wrong with this guy? I highly doubt him and Thornton fighting tonight, I don't see a fight coming from the B's-Yotes game

It seemed like Scott has been playing regularly so him and Westgarth should happen. Im starting to lose my patience with Westy he seemed to have obvious opportunities in games with Sutter coaching.

With Scott playing forward he should find Westgarth and beat the crap out of him.

Yeah, I think it was just a week ago I was defending him. But now I'm leaning towards "I'll believe it when I see it" from him... and even then "I'll believe it when I see it AGAIN"... A fight with Scott, while fun and needed won't be much, especially if he gets pummeled. He needs to start forcing the issue like lakingsfan19 always says.

I don't know whats wrong with him, maybe he was/is still feeling something from when he got rocked by Gratts in the preseason. He just doesnt seem to have the fire he had in the AHL when he would fight whenever he could.

I agree with you, but Westie is actually a pretty good 4th line player for a fighter. He has a nice shot, good on the fore check, can skate pretty good, and can make nice passes. It's hard to find enforcers like that. But he does need to start enforcing.

How many Kings players have went down to injury from a dirty play and Westgarth didn't do anything about it? Even though most of these players weren't fighters, he should have still sent a message... Ivanans did many times in a Kings jersey.

I have been calling for Westgarth to force the issue, who cares if a guy turns you down. Under TM he didn't have that choice. Now under Sutter, he has no excuses.

Hopefully tonight both guys get going and both have a better second half.

I think that you hit the nail on the head!!! He is clearly gun-shy. Hopefully he finds his sack and gets back in the cockpit tonight. Although it would be tough to go with a guy who beat you badly this could be just what he needs to get going.

Guess that explains his game...who needs to fight when you are in the pressbox every game.

He sucks and clearly does not know his role. He is a professional tweeter.

My favorite example of that was in the game where Phaneuf boarded Kopitar and got a gamer, Ivanans first shift out there he took a run at someone and just dropped the gloves and started whaling away on someone. He didn't get a major but got like 20+ PIMs. It was awesome.
