Pittsburgh at San Jose 11/7/09
Vote: Michael Rupp vs Brad Staubitz Nov 7, 2009
Michael Rupp vs. Brad Staubitz Staubitz ran into Rupp along the boards in the neutral zone, and as they come away from the boards, Rupp jabs at Staubitz, and as the camera goes to follow the puck up the ice, off go the gloves. Looked like both landed one before falling to the ice. On second view, draw. Vote: Jay McKee vs Jody Shelley Nov 7, 2009 Jay McKee vs. Jody Shelley McKee had taken down one of the Sharks behind the goal line in the Pens zone, and all of a sudden, we see him with the gloves off against Shelley. Nothing of significance landing from either, and the fight ended when both went to the ice. Draw. Vote: Eric Godard vs Jody Shelley Nov 7, 2009 Eric Godard vs. Jody Shelley Off a faceoff in the Pens end, they're skating to the left of the net and appear to be talking, and they drop the mitts. They were throwing quite a few punches without many landing, until Shelley landed 2 solid shots to Godard that, while they didn't knock him out, did appear to make solid contact and at least faze Godard. Win Shelley.

McKee vs Shelley, crap draw maybe edge to big Jody nothing really landed before they hit the ice
Godard vs Shelley, win Shelley... rocked Godard with a couple good shots and kept him at bay with the jersey jab and tied him up really well later in the fight |

Shelley had a good grip on Godard's right arm and landed a beautiful uppercut that rocked him. Big E looked a little rusty and needs to become more active in the fight department.

I can't believe Jay McKee went after Jody Shelley.

Staubitz with SLIGHT EDGE/EDGE for landing big left-hand.
That landed pretty well to the face of Rupp. Shelley vs McKee wasn't much, DRAW. Shelley with NARROW WIN over Godard. Shelley landed few good shots. Nice fight. |

1st of all, Big Mike Rupp showed his true colors going after Staubitz when Shelley was in the lineup for San Jose. If Rupps a HW, he's a lousy one.
Win Jody Shelley in the only fight that mattered. Good for him, he's not having the best year IMO. But having a good showing against Godard might be just what the doctor ordered for Jody. |
