Eh.

Good on Neil for fighting in this situation. I have been really hard on the guy so far this year, because he has been a bit 'dodgie' we'll say and in particular I felt he was avoiding Godard like the plague earlier this season. I have to give him his dues tonight, though. He stepped up and took it like a hockey player should, answering for some of his actions.

Watching both videos, I have found this to be a pretty solid win for Godard. Neil looked to land one good left, but Mattyp's video shows Godard landing some pretty good ones himself that I felt the other angle didn't do justice on. Good tilt. Godard won the fight, but there were no losers here tonight, Chris Neil stepped up, the fans got a good show. All around a nice evening.

That was the Peters/McGrattan fight if I remember correctly. And that's exactly the type of scenario I'm eluding to. Like I say, Godard still gets the W, but I hate seeing reasoning that's off base like that. At least the call was right, I guess.

I can't give edge to Godard when Neil did a good job here.
They both threw some punches and lands them.
A DRAw.

This video was much better than the first.

From watching this, there's no doubt that Godard won this fight. The other version was more in favor of Neil than anything..

They probably did. But both you and me knows what Neil is capable of.

Narrow win Godard, both of those guys were absolutely gassed at the end of the bout. Nice open fight from start to finish

I'd say this was a win for Godard in a solid scrap. Pretty good showing by Neil against a tough opponent, but he did look like he'd had enough by the end of the fight.

Intresting...Neil wouldnt take on 42 year old Gary Roberts, yet would take on the Hand of God? Kinda funny. I gave a slight edge to Godard seem to be in more control and just took over at the end. Neil proably shouldnt have dropped them with that bad knee but he gets some props from me for fighting on it.

Good angle and it shows that Godard won that fight and there was no edge. Neil fought a good fight but in the end he acknowledged Godard won. Nothing wrong with that. Neil is doing a job that he should not be doing. The guy is a good hockey player and a solid third liner. Get a hw ottawa but I know they won't and hopefully the rules of the nhl will only limit Neils fights against enforcers.

After the first vid I was thinking DRAW all the way myself, but the 2nd vid showed Godard landed a few more decent ones to take the edge.

Ain't that the truth. I didn't see anything that said Neil was "hurt." He was gassed and so was Godard. They both quit at the same time. I really don't get what people saw there that clearly said Neil quit and Godard definately wanted to continue. Nonsense.

It doesnt really matter that there is off base reasoning all that matters is Neil fought and lost. No harm in that he will win some and lose some. Wether due to sore leg/just coming back/whatever else you wanna throw in there Neil quit at the end and recieved the better shots (imo).
