Kyle Chipchura vs Paul Gaustad May 4, 2012 -...

Paul Gaustad vs Kyle Chipchura

Fight starts off a face-off. Both guys are talking and the gloves came off quickly and Gaustad leaves his visor on. Gaustad throws three hard rights and landed two of those as uppercuts and Chipchura goes down to the ice. Chipchura doesn't stay down although Gaustad threw a couple while he was on the ice. After Chipchura got up Gaustad didn't seem to be as aggressive, and Chipchura landed a couple of weak rights to the back of Gaustad's head. They grappled in tight for a long time than Gaustad scored with a right uppercut. They grappled some more and than Chipchura looked to land a couple or weak lefts before the linesmen broke up the fight . Win Gaustad.

The fight really wasn't anything spectacular, but the energy was there. In the playoffs, thats all I can ask for...Draw

They scrapped last year too when Goose was with Buffalo and Chipchura in Anaheim...

I hope Gaustad feels really tough punching a guy on the ground while wearing a face shield.

Well after the beating Lucic gave him, i do not blame him. Even with the fish bowl he deserves the loss for a draw sorry Goose.

The punching while Chipchura was on the ground was weak, but Gaustad got the edge there.

Really....this is a perfect example of why you keep fighting until the refs break it up regardless if you are on the ground. Gaustad could not finish him off and Kelly actually did pretty well for himself once he got up.

I hate the new and improved "Code" where punching someone on the ground is considered wrong. Unless the guy is hurt then you should not stop.
