Yes, because it's expected that coaches settle things by fighting each other. Granato clearly had his tail between his legs and was hiding behind Pierre Mcguire.

Yeah you might be right about Schenn, I couldn't tell if he intended to drop them or not, but he was going for Vitale first. Would have been a fair one there. Asham probably didn't even have time to think, just reacted and was ready to go.

Simmonds/Engelland was secondary to the cameras so I don't think it got everything there at the start.

For Engellend being the heavyweight in that fight, he sure looked small when paired up with Simmonds... well until he dropped him.

Haha! I'm not saying it wouldn't be awesome. I'm just saying it doesn't work that way.
Remember Lindy Ruff in the OTT-BUF game a few years back? I think it was after Drury getting annihilated.

I am looking forward to seeing Engelland-Simmonds. If Engelland got cheap against an honest guy who took a puck yesterday then that sucks. But, if it was even then good for both of them, makes me like Simmonds even more.

yea i judge people based on there fight cards, simmonds is 6'2 but like 180 lbs lol and strictly a mw but hes tough and will step out a bit like he did here , but DE is 1 tough hombre with a really good fight card against the likes of orr and shelley and so forth. DE is def a HW in my own opinion. BUt like you said this should be one hell of a series coming up. should be entertaining

In what little of the fight they did show, Engelland thumped Simmonds pretty good, and it stumbled him. I think Simmonds stepped on a stick and slipped more than it was an actual KD. Engelland, as I think most would expect, got the best in that fight.

Engelland didn't jump Simmonds and just start pounding on him. It looked like they both said 'ok'.

The beauty of the Engellands and Simmonds is that they are out there to play hockey, but are more than willing to step up for their teammates. That's a priceless quality, especially when they're willing to take on someone who is out there strictly to fight.

Looked like Simmonds wanted to fight Niskanen and Engo jumped in there. Bad luck for Simmonds. He got smoked by one of those rights. Vitale also looked willing for any takers he was skating around shaking his gloves right at the hit. Nobody wanted Asham either. Terrible camera work by NBC! Bet Shelly plays next week. Would love to see Rinaldo-Asham. Shelly-Engo next week.

they are both honest guys who go hard. I have been very pleased with simmonds this yr. His character, his will to stand up for teammates. Hes one of the toughest guys ive seen play the game.
