How some of the Philly guys say draw is just pure BS. Wait till you see the MSG replay. Prust landed atleast 5 flush shots to the face in a row that made Simmonds shy away for a bit.
"5 flush shots" is bullsh*t. I'll give Prust the nod for one flush shotbut you make it seem as if he smoked him, when he did nothing of the sort.

The fact is that getting "punched in the face" would be an accomplishment for Avery at this point.

Answer this question honestly: Do you think Avery owes Simmonds a fight after shamelessly suckering him at the bottom of a pile in preseason, turtling when Simmonds came calling, and then going to the media and trying to get him suspended about what he chirped at him?

Wait till you see the MSG replay. I was going draw or edge Prust till they showed a slow mo replay. Its not worth arguing with you about but wait till you see the replay and I guarantee that Prust landed atleast 5 flush shots to the face.

Read the post before you start calling people names. I said he is just like Avery in the way that after each play Simmonds is trash talking. Avery is in a class of his own overall but Simmonds is a huge trash talker just like Avery as soon as the whistle blows the play dead.

And then Simmonds did what... he dropped the f*cking gloves! With the toughest guy on the Rags roster nonetheless!

How is that in any way similar to Avery, who clearly refuses to answer the bell with Simmonds?!

Only 1 middleweight in the lineup for the Rangers and they are 1 win and 1 tie after 2 fights.

I'll take it!

Prust landed some shots Simmonds definitely didn't like. Simmonds got in a couple as well, but Prust won the fight.

I think Prust gets the edge here but "5 flush shots" is complete BS. Simmonds looked to land a good one in the middle of it, but it looked like Prust got 2-3 after that. Simmonds had a look on his face that seemed to show Prust got him good.

Anyways, here's another example of why everyone hates Avery.

-Last season, Avery goes after Carle, refuses Shelley.

-This preseason, he turtles against Simmonds

-This season, he starts with Simmonds and has Prust finish his business.

It's time for Shelley to go ape**** on Avery. He's been suspended three times in the past two seasons and none of them have been useful suspensions. (Boarding on McQuaid and Boyce, suckerpunch on Alberts).

If he rips Avery's head off, at least it's worth it.

I think Avery owes tons of guys fight. Trust me Im a huge Avery fan but that doesnt mean that he doesnt pi$$ me off with his ducking and dodging antics. The more he does that the more I do become less excited when I see him challenging someone or him running his mouth because he does it now more to draw penalties but thats Avery. We have to come to expect this now so I dont have hi hopes anymore with him.

But to answer your questions fairly and honestly I would love to see those two fight. They are both trash talkers and fire starters and I think Simmonds would get the nod bc he is bigger and stronger but still would like to see it.

... but Simmonds hasn't turned down a fight all year...

You said he was just like Avery. Avery trash talks and then usually doesn't back it up. The same can't be said of Simmonds.

Keep the Avery hate coming. Shows how good of a pest he is. That's what he does, he pisses everyone off. He's not a good fighter , he's just a good trash talker.

I never said anything about fighting. All I said was Simmonds is like Avery they both trash talk after the play.

Where did I once state that Simmonds trash talks and never fights?

Fair enough. Frankly, teammates or not, I don't think Prust should be fighting Avery's fight for him there. If there's any semblance of a code in the NHL, Avery should have to fight his own fight there.

All I'm saying is that Simmonds, by being more than willing to fight a guy like Prust, who makes a living out of doing just that, and is one of the best at what he does, puts Avery's manhood into perspective. Simmonds didn't owe Prust a fight and he was more than willing to go anyway, whereas Avery clearly owes a fight to Simmonds and clearly has no intention of stepping up. It's as simple as that.

Your absolutely right. Simmonds is a trash talker, just not too good with his fists.

It was the insinuation that they were the same type of man. They aren't.

Trash talking is where the similarities end. Simmonds always answers and Avery rarely does, it's as simple as that.

And as I said above, your clarification was fair enough.

The little I've seen of Simmonds, I'd say he's a pretty good fighter. He just got a little full of himself trying to switch hands and his left couldn't match Prust's right and by the time he switched back he ate a couple.
