Jesse Boulerice vs Cam Janssen
They drop 'em right off of the face off. Boulerice ties up Janssen pretty good gets in 3-4 glancing rights, nothing too major. He switches hands and gets Janssens's jersey up over his head, throws 3-4 lefts, punching Cam to the ice. Clear win Boulerice. Riley Cote vs. Aaron Asham Cote gives Asham a little "let's go" slash as they're skating through the neutral zone. Asham obliges and they square off. Asham throws a few rights nothing connecting too well. Cote grabs on with his right, throws a left or two and drags Asham to the ice. Pretty much a draw in a lame fight. Jason Smith vs David Clarkson With the Devils on the power play Clarkson jabs away at the puck, while Biron tries to cover it. Smith goes in to put6 an end to it, Clarkson drops his glove and Smith follows suit. Clarkson throws a flurry of rights, connecting squarely with the first one. Smith comes back with a few lefts evening things up a bit. Win Clarkson for the big right. Ben Eager vs Mike Rupp They drop 'em off of the faceoff. Rupp controls the beginning of the fight. I can't remember how many or left or right, things were starting to get out of hand at this point. Eager regains his composure throws a right or two, Rupp goes down, more of a slip, gets back up Eager nails him again, he goes down again, the linesmen break it up. Edge Rupp. Jesse Boulerice vs Cam Janssen They drop em on the following faceoff. They actually were gonna on the previous one but eager/Rupp beat them to it. Cam starts out better getting in 4 punches or so. Couldn't tell at this point butr he injures himself somehow. Boulerice throws a bunch of punches, connecting squarely Janssen goes down. I don't know at what point Janssen got hurt. Win Boulerice. Riley Cote vs David Clarkson Could not see it (against the boards). I just saw Cote on top of someone. Cote gets 2,5, &10. He came back in the third period, but I don't think he played a shift. On the play before the first Boulerice/Janssen fight Cote and Boulerice were both going after Janssen. I could imagine them fighting over who got to go with Janssen. Ihope Janssen isn't hurt too bad. I'm pretty f 'ing far from a Devils fan, but we need players like him in the NHL. |

Philadelphia at NJ 9/17/07
Just got home from the NJ-PHI game, and what a game it was!
Tons of hitting, 5 fights, and five goals total! Great all around game. To sum up the fights, all of which in the first period. Janssen vs Boulerice - Started off the face off, they dropped them and grabbed on. Boulerice was throwing from the get go and Cam was trying to get set up. He did a good job of holding him off for a bit, but after some punches Boulerice got Cams jersey up over his head and started to go to town. Win Boulerice. Smith vs Clarkson - If I'm not mistaken, this occurs after a shot on Phillys goal and a little scrum developed. Smith and Clarkson grab ahold of each other and pull away and start to throw 'em. It stays pretty even until Clarkson goes off balance and down to his knee, at which point the refs stepped in, to be greeted by boos from the crowd. Nothing major landed, but they were throwing a lot and didn't stay tied up too much. Draw Cote vs Asham - This one starts off as they are moving up the ice and has a nice square off. Asham lands a few early and is able to keep Cote at a safe distance. Eventually Cote gets free and they both start throwing at a pretty good pace. Refs come in when Asham goes off balance and goes to the ice. Draw Boulerice vs Janssen - Round 2. Janssen wanted this as you could tell he was pissed about his jersey coming up during the first fight. They square off for a long time after the puck drops and eventually grab on. A few nice rights by Janssen are thrown with maybe 1-2 connecting and about the same for Boulerice. Unfourtnately for Cam, the jersey gets pulled up again and as he goes down, something happens to either his hand or arm/shoulder. Boulerice throws a few more while Cam's on the ice and the refs stop it. Cam leaves the ice in obvious pain, and doesn't return for the rest of the game. Win Boulerice Eager vs Rupp - After the very next faceoff, these two go at it. Both are throwing and neither seems to be holding back. Each connects with a few and Rupp goes off balance to end the fight. Draw. As stated in the possible fights thread Cote got a 2, 5, 10 for jumping on Clarkson. It was IMO retaliation for a big hit Clarkson laid on Gagne, sending him flying to the ice. Also, White and Richards were about to go but the Refs stopped it for some reason. White had already shed his gloves but no penalties were called.

Wow there's guys trying to win jobs. Boulerice was very impressive because Janssen fought the likes of Belak, Orr, Mcgrattan etc and diddn't get beat that decesively in any Mcgrattan did handle him rather easily in there 2nd fight but Boulerice was impressive. Janssen is pound for pound as tough anyone in the NHL but man he might just not be big enough to take on the Heavyweghts of today. It looked like another shoulder injury. It takes it toll on the body and shouler injuries just seem to come back real easy. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Thanks for the clips.....

Nice to hear the sound of the clips, especially in the first one, the guy in the background laughs at Janssens like Nelson from the Simpsons.

It must have been pretty cool game! 5 fights in the first period...but Devils fighters lose most of the fights
. Poor Cam...i hope he'll be alright !

Welcome back kid!
Good showing Boulerice! Welcome back to the Flyers. The only hole that needed to be filled on the team was a guy that could throw hands and who better to throw them at then Cam.
I am the farthest thing from a Devil's fan but I hope Cam isn't out for a long period of time. He's one of the best fighters in the league and is a pitbull to boot. Way to go Boulerice and I'll enjoy watching Cote with the Phantoms. Him jumping Clarkson was a desperate move to impress the staff but it back fired drastically with a SEVEN minute PP. Ouch.

Is that the same shoulder Janssen injured in his fight against Parros last season?
