Philadelphia at New Jersey 11/8/07
Riley Cote vs Arron Asham
Right off of the faceoff they drop the gloves and square off near the blueline. They grab ahold of each other and immediately start going toe-to-toe with lefts. Asham goes down to a knee but gets back up after a moment. They start going toe-to-toe with lefts once more until Asham finally lands one that sends Cote down to the ice. Asham falls on top of Cote and the linesmen jump in as well. KD win for Asham on the first viewing. Ben Eager vs Sheldon Brookbank Brookbank bumps Eager into the boards. Brookbank then shoves Eager and they decide to drop the gloves. They grab ahold of each other and wrestle around for a moment. Eager gets loose and throws an uppercut inside. They exchange short rights before grappling some more. Eager throws two rights and a body shot. Brookbank pushes Eager up against the boards and throws a right. Brookbank follows up with a right cross that lands. They continue to wrestle around until the linesmen decide to intervene and end the fight. I'd say draw at first glance.

I go slight win Asham for the punch that knocked Cote off balance. It did not knock him down but it was a hard shot.
Both guys cut, both guys throwing bombs, toe to toe, that's how fights should be. Cote buckled his knees early but didn't finish him and they trade until Asham knocks Cote off balanced.

Damnit Asham-drop the gloves more often! Atta-boy! (I may have spoken prematurely-since I haven't see the video) That's twice he oblidged Cote! A little rivalry developing perhaps?

I haven't seen Asham fight like that in a while.
Cote underestimated Asham's power a bit it seemed. Left himself way too open.

He definitely didn't slip because of anything other than a punch. It is a win Asham. Great fight though. Love toe to toe battles.

Cote early, Asham late. Asham landed that last punch that knocked Cote off balance, otherwise, if they continue to trade Cote gets the edge. Cote landed more quality punches, but Asham gets the KD win here.
Cote may not be the most dominant fighter, but he provides the most exciting fights, damn he's fun to watch.
