You know what I find really disgusting?

Shanahan's name is mentioned way too much.

Every time there is a questionable hit or a big scrum/brawl people start babbling about Shanny and suspensions.

That never used to happen in the "good old days" and player respect was much, much higher.

This game has changed for the worse.

Ok

Have to love some of you no nothings. First off say what you want about Boyle i'll take him on my team any day. The guy plays hard 24/7, hits fights(not all that good), Best faceoff man on the team. Him and Prust are our #1 PK unit (5th in the league) and has scored 7 goals in the last 11 games including a goal in each 2 playoffs so far. Only an idiot would not want him.

As far as what Carkner did. I really dont have much of a problem with that...but please don't make up your own versions of what happened when video is right here. As soon as he hit Boyle, he was shoving him, Boyle looks up for a split second before Crakner starts raining blows on him. You can CLEARLY see the second punch puts him down with his gloves still on. Thats giving time...LOL...Maybe its me or do you guys have a new explanation of the "turtling" that Boyle did...lol hate all you want but at least be truthful.

Dubi getting thrown out was ridiculous and there was no reason for it, Especially with the ref right there with his thumb so far up his azz he was paralyzed. Loved this game and the Rangers kept their composure throughout and you know it was Torts telling them so.

I think tomorrow he Rags come out on fire and bury the overmatched Sens early and often. the may have awoken a sleeping giant.

I was off by one game. I said that Hagelin would get 4 games and he got 3 games.
Tortorella's big mouth and a NY BIAS!

Mario Lemieux is on the phone now saving Neal and Asham's ass after their cheapshots today!

And il defend Boyle 1 more time --- the guy had a great game, was involved all night long from some body-hits/open ice checks, some fights, blocked shots, and scored a goal, he was all over the place last night on the ice

How can ANYONE whos a fan of physical hockey not like that? i dont understand it, that was a very entertaining hockey game!

?
Boyle couldn't score all season and all of a sudden he scored 5 goals and 7 points in the last 9 games and now has 2 goals in 2 games in the playoffs! He's playing the same game but now is hitting the net and finishing!

I guess he scored a nice goal with his head caved in!

Some of the hyperbole that I am reading about Boyle reminds me of Dale Rolfe and Dave Schultz. The way some write about it you would of thought that Rolfe was dead, missed the rest of the game, or played a terrible game and that was the farthest from the truth!
Rolfe never missed a shift and played a hell of a game and if it wasn't for Parent in the last 10 minutes, the Rangers would of played Boston in the 1974 finals!
Same with Boyle! He seemed fine to me and played a solid game!

I've no problem with Boyle at all. He roughed up Karlsson which I'd expect him to do, as he's one of our best players. He then took his medicine, (looked like he "slipped" on Neil...) so fair play to him.

Where the hell is Prust blasting a few Senator's like Neil is doing? The Rangers defenseman were pus*ies all night also with the Senators camping out in front of Lundqvist and being allowed to do it.
The Rangers better grow a pair and step up quickly or their ass will be out of the playoffs quickly!
Agree 100%.

I was at that game and I almost threw up in disgust. If Rangers want to win this they better man up and stop playing like little bitches. Even Callahan wasn't finishing his checks the way he normally does. Ottowa has them scared it seems.

Funny nobody mentioned yet how Konopka was knocking people over and then choking them out when they were on the ice. He did this 3 separate times! I was pissed that he didn't get called for any of them, but man what a sneaky goon! 3 CHEERS.

I'd also like to agree with a few other posts I read regarding Boyle's great playing even though he was targeted. They went after him and tried to intimidate him but he played well and played tough. He seemed to be the Rangers toughest player in many situations.

I'm not sure if you can blame Fonzarella for the unanswered shots, but overall most of the Rangers played very wimpy compared to what I am used to seeing all season.

Quick story regarding Carkner and the Sens here. I have a friend who is involved with Carkner doing charity work up in Ottawa and relayed this story to me. After the first period was over the first thing Paul Maclean did when he walked into the Senators locker room was go over to Carkner and thank him telling him he did a great job doing what was needed to be done.

Glad to know that in a league where we have some pansies for coaches and coaches sooooo worried about losing a guy for a mere 5 minutes during the game that a coach understands that you still need to protect your players. I have tons of respect for Maclean for that. He lost Carkner less than 5 minutes into the game and rather than throw a fit that he got himself tossed, he goes oldschool and tells him he did the right thing and did well. Maclean better stick around a long time.

Nice story Phillyfan. Maclean saw after game 1 that this could be a quick series and he made the neccessarry adjustments for game 2. he really did coach like they would have back in the 90's and it led to a great series. The Rangers were caught way off guard and got their act together just in time to barely take the series. I hope Maclean has a long future in this leaague.

That's awesome. I know Carkner has a big charity working with getting autistic kids (or something like that) playing hockey here in Ottawa. I'm surprised about Maclean, given his Detroit stint before coming here, but that's amazing.

Is that the guy who was a healthy scratch for game 7 and is so valuable that he is gone and with the Islanders?

Now Carkner will be able to terrorize the rag-dolls six times a year!

Brian 'Marshamallow Man' Boyle must be $hitting himself right now.
