I have to say, that was probably worth whatever fines, suspensions, and bull**** that comes from the league office.

Helen Keller would have known what was coming... and probably fared better too.

At least he kind of put up a tiny fight against Neil. Great glove drop, but downhill from there. Classic Neil mocking his bailout.

Win Neil

This is so funny coming from someone that vehemently stuck up for Gaustad this year. I doubt anyone would accuse you of being hockey knowledgable so it really doesn't matter I guess.

I made it through a page and almost puked. A couple douches whose teams are playing golf crying about Boyle. I hope Boyle retires a Ranger and he played a great game last night. He can't fight, oh well. Hedidn't back down and his team should have rallied around him.

Did you see the game? Boyle put about three people down with big hits and scored a go ahead goal. He was a little more relevant than just losing a fight so try and keep it close to reality.

Looks/sounds like he didnt watch the game

I not a Rag$ fan at all, but i enjoy watching good intense physical hockey (especially playoff hockey where everyones afraid to take a penalty) and that was a intense game last night from start to end

Boyle was a BIG BIG part of it, ok so Carkner pounded him down to ice (Carkners a better fighter, we know that) but still Boyle had a very strong game and was involved all over the ice, hit people, blocked shots and had a fighting major and even scored a goal! -- and he got shyt going in the series by roughing up the euros

Good job by Boyle and good game last night by him, cant deny that!

Thanks goon, great post. Boyle was awesome and the Senators were even better. They had a guy from the NHL network on between the second and third and he said he has seen every playoof game and that was the nastiest. It was so much fun to watch two teams play like that and while the refs had to call the couple majors they called, they really let the teams sort it out on the ice a lot also. Only going to get better in Ottawa as they could play Neil against anyone they want.

Bush League

Calling a WIN for Clarkson has to be one of the dumbest things I've heard in a while. Honestly just watch the play and stop being bloodthirsty homers. Boyle finishes his check on another Sens player, Clarkson comes in from the side, there is no square off, no eye-contact, only the definition of what is described in any fight medium as a SUCKER PUNCH. And then after the cheap shot, he continues to whale on Boyle as he's on the ice. The level of subjectivity in how you people react to these things is insane. Continuing to throw at someone when they're on the ice is explicitly against this "code" that you all love to trumpet so much when it works in your own team's favor. That was dirty all around from start to finish and Carkner should get at least 2-3 games.

Here are a couple facts you need to just deal with:
1. Boyle is not a "goon". He's a 3rd line checking center who happens to be 6'7'' and sucks at fighting. He hits and hard and plays tough but just because he's big doesn't mean a guy has to be a fighter. Call him a ***** fine, but deal with it, Carkner is a lead-footed goon who was put in for "retribution" that is not at all equivalent to Boyle's role.
2. Did any of you even see what Boyle did to Karrlson in game 1? He gave him frickin noogies for god's sake!! There was no "cheap shot", no dangerous play. Just a post-whistle scrum that happens to star players ACROSS THE BOARD in the playoffs. If that's the kind of play you people think deserves the retribution of literally being attacked and suckered by a goon who's hockey skill level is nowhere near playoffs worthy, you seriously need to go back to watching old tapes, because that kind of bush league stuff has no place in todays playoff hockey.

Dont blame Rags fan that he has Clarkson on his mind all the time, but this guy is called Carkner

After Haeglans elbow, I figured theres potential he'll be suspended for a game and the Rags will need to go to the depth chart for another forward. During the game, I thought to myself that if the Rags were to win and make the series 2-0, they may dress John Scott. No way they risk it going on the road with the series tied. Thanks alot Del Zotto.

pretty fun game to watch...
however I think torts dropped the ball just like he did in that nj game with the opening faceoff fights. Dress John Scott and this doesnt happen. I mean put him on def or a foreward he would not let anyone run into hank and clear out the front of the net. I understand its playoff hockey nd this and that but dont dress John mitchel who is a waste and put scott in there. You know and if he gets kicked out who cares. Rupp to me was useless they were running and banging the rangers last night who didnt really do anything in return. Im not sure if im just pissed at the outcome of the game or what but I felt like the sens totally controlled every aspect of that game and really put a beating on the rangers. I mean people are blasting on boyle who def could use some fighting lessons but he is not a fighter. I think he should be a better one for his size but thats not his game thats why they have a fourth line. But anyway they should def go with a fourth line of scott and rupp and throw bickel in at center he won the faceoff against nj haha. Think ottawa throws the rangers around like rag dolls for the next few games. im telling you if torts wasnt such a bitch to avery he could have made this series even more interesting cause he would have been causing some chaos last night.

win carkner

win neil
No go in the Rangers thread and see what I wrote. The Rangers will slow the Senators down if they capitalize on the PP and embolden the Senators to take even more liberties if they stink on the PP.
Remember the Smurfs in the early 1980's?
In the 1982 playoffs the Rangers were 6 for 21 on the PP against the Flyers and were more than happy to take the power play opportunities from the Flyers aggression and won the series 3-1!
In the 1983 playoffs the Rangers were 4 for 16 on the PP against the Flyers and were more than happy to take the power play opportunities from the Flyers aggression and won that series 3-0.
10 for 37(27%) in 7 games!
They can't play dirty and do something stupid like Hagelin did but must play smart and be VERY physical and that will slow Ottawa down and they must take advantage of the PP and walk away with a series win!
I've written in the Rangers thread that the Rangers better step up their physical play, the defenseman better give Lundqvist some help in around the goal and Lundqvist if he wants some open lanes to see better chop a few ankles once in a while but in a smart manner!

I also asked in the Rangers thread where was Prust not playing like Neil is for Ottawa and Bickel played 4 minutes and Rupp and Mitchell played 2 minutes. If Tortorella is gonna do that, he might as well dress Kreider and use his speed on the forecheck and his size on the PP and dress Scott and tell him to fight Neil!
Will Torts do that?
No!

Lastly is they should do to Karlsson what the Rangers did in 1973 and 1979 to Orr and Potvin in the playoffs.
I would constantly throw the puck in Karlsson's corner and get in there and bang him and bang him and bang him and wear him out.
Fred Shero did that to Orr in the 1974 finals after watching the Rangers do it in the 1973 playoffs and as Rangers coach did it to Potvin in the 1979 playoffs.
In 1970 and 1972, Orr killed the Rangers in the playoffs and Francis changed tactics in 1973 and had the Rangers make Orr work and pounded him and he was impotent scoring 2 points in the 5 game series. They gotta do the same with this Karlsson kid who owned the puck last night and controlled the game when he was on the ice!
Play super physical but play clean and get that goddamn PP to do something!
