Chris Neil vs Troy Brouwer

Neil takes a big run at Patrick Kane and almost takes him out, so Brouwer challenges Neil. They drop the gloves and not much happens for a while, Neil landing one or two glancing blows. They grapple some more, with Brouwer largely just holding on. At one point Brouwer sees his chance and throws a right that grazes Neil's chin, the only shot he really lands in the fight. They almost go down, but Neil seems to pull Brouwer back up and throws a couple of more, neither of which do any significant damage. They get tied up again and the refs start to come in, Neil tries to keep it going but can't really land. Neil then gets his hand cocked back and is about to throw when the refs jump in.

All in all not much thrown and little landed. Edge Neil on first viewing in a largely uneventful scrap.

Good on Brouwer for sticking up for his young superstar teammate.

Neil takes a run at Kane, so Brouwer comes in and challenges him, they drop em at center ice and quickly get rid of the buckets before grappling on. They go back and forth for a bit swinging but not much seems to land.

Eager is too much of a chicken sh*t to do anything about it. He can talk all he wants, but I will be shocked if he throws down with anyone in the 3rd.

Good job by Brouwer for sticking up for his talented younger teammate, and he didn't look too out of place in this fight. Neil clearly seemed to be in more control of the fight but Brouwer stood right in there and threw a couple of shots, while Neil was concentrating more on position. Draw, with a possible edge to Neil in a fight for all the right reasons.

I'm not surprised by Neil going for the Big hit... at the time Kane was high sticking everything in sight.

Neil controlled the fight, but Brouwer held his own. Edge Neil.

Plus he's a pretty good fighter.

Neil challenges Eager early in the first he declined so he runs Kane and Brouwer obliges glad someone stood up for him. And then Neil ask Brouwer to go for a second time later but Brouwer actually tells him he can't and Neil skates away. The fourth line for the senators played pretty physical the Hawks fourthline I think threw one check that was a brushing hit by Fraser on the boards.

If true, I wonder if it was because his hands weren't in shape, or whether the coach gave him ****...
