Great showing by both fighters. Draw/edge Thorton

Another one from Neil and Thornton who have a pretty good rivalry going. I think we all expected to see big Matt Carkner squared up with Shawn when the camera got there, but Neil vs. Thornton is a great matchup and they did not let us down.

Chris Neil vs. Shawn Thornton

Ottawa is down and Boston is pretty much having their way with them, so Neil goes out looking for Thornton.

They come together outside of the Bruins penalty box, and start trading shots. Thornton seems to get the better of the initial exchange. They then go toe-to-toe trading many hard shots, many landing from both fighters. They begin to tire and eventually the linesmen step in. This was a great fight. I am going to call this a draw for now but my gut tells me that Thornton may have gotten the better of the exchange. There was lots of fun going on in this one, I would like to see it again to get a better look at the punches.

After the fight, Chris Phillips of all people puts the puck in the net for Ottawa.

It would be entertaining for Chara, not so much for Carkner.

And before the fight he put one in for Boston, so they wash each other out

Great fight, I'd call it a draw, they traded some hard rights, and Neil was switching up nicely throughout the fight with some short lefts.

This fight seemed to turn the period around for the Sens, seems like it woke them up as they were playing much harder afterwards and scored to make it a one goal game.

What a fight! Thornton looked gassed at the end, but I thought they both threw and landed a decent amount of punches. Draw on 1st viewing.

Looked a lot different from the Boston feed (Thanks for the clip by the way) I'll have to take a look at it more closely after the game.

Anybody know what happened with Foligno? I was gone to grab a beer, when I came back Foligno was being carried off the ice.

This year, Chris Neil is about the only Senator who knows what his job is and lives up to it almost every night.

Moxie, He fell in the circle and Stuart landed on top of him and he hit the boards real hard. Looked like he went in with shoulder/head first.

I'd say edge Thornton, Ottawa is out playing Boston so far

Him and Mark Stuart were battling for the puck and Foligno lost his footing and fell causing Stuart to fall onto him and ride him into the boards awkwardly.

Thanks for clearing that up guys. Hell, I'll take it if it means Carkner will stick with Ottawa for a while and earn himself a spot. He's looked pretty good on the ice so far tonight. Does not look out of place at all.
