NY Islanders at New Jersey 9/30/11

Vote: Micheal Haley vs Matt Corrente Sep 30, 2011
Micheal Haley vs Matt Corrente Sep 30, 2011 ...

Micheal Haley vs. Matt Corrente

With the physical play picking up, Corrente gives Gillies a push after Gillies checks a Devil. Haley sees Corrente push Gillies and immediately goes after him. Haley gets off quick with some rights as Corrente is trying to get set. Haley pushes Corrente to the boards and the linesmen almost break it up as Corrente is on a knee. But Corrente gets up and they start fighting again. Both guys are throwing rights without much defense with Haley landing some of the better shots. They eventually stop throwing so much and start throwing some jersey jabs as they're tiring out. The linesmen then break it up. Pretty long fight.

Win Haley

Haley also received an instigator

Vote: Matt Martin vs Mark Fraser Sep 30, 2011
Matt Martin vs Mark Fraser Sep 30, 2011 -...

Matt Martin vs. Mark Fraser

The Devils have a scoring chance, but behind the play Fraser and Martin have the gloves off and are grabbed on. Both guys are holding on and throwing some jersey jabs. They each get their hands free but don't really land anything as it's mostly body shots and helmet shots. They continue this for around 20 seconds until the linesmen come in.

Draw

Give Corrente some props, he tagged Haley towards the end with some nice shots. Only problem is Haley took those punches and returned fire like they were nothing.

Yeah, I was happy with Corrente's effort coming back in the fight.

I'm also happy that Corrente didn't break his hand in the fight (unlike his previous 2 fights!)

Took me a while to realize that was Haley fighting. I guess he's not going to be #59 this season.

Yeah he's been wearing 18 since juniors. 18 wasn't available when he first went to camp with the Isles.

EDIT: Shoulda looked at my avatar!

Haley became one of my favorite players to watch towards the end of last season and on first view I thought he started this fight very strongly but props have to go to Corrente as he came back well. In fact I think Corrente may have had the edge at the end as Haley definitely tired. Again I stress that I only saw the fight once as they didnt show a replay on the stream Im watching but it did look liked Haley didnt throw anything for the last part of the fight.

Excellent show of sportsmanship by Haley when he let Corrente get to his feet. Win Haley. Props to Corrente for hanging in there.

Haley landed a couple of big ones early, Corrente used the jersey jabs pretty good at the end but missed with most of the rights. Props to him for coming back anyway.

Edge Haley in a good fight. That instigator was horse ****, Corrente wanted a fight and got one.

good scrap, props to corrente for getting back up to continue.

Still trying to figure out how Haley gets the Bettman package and Corrente gets nothing but a five.

Probably the most boring fight ever.

EDIT: They should have gotten 2 mins for delay of the game.

I was upset when that fight was happening to be honest. Eric Boulton had the puck in a great scoring area and had a legitimate scoring chance!

Yep, and the rest of the stream, those two douchebags acted like he was the second coming of son of sam.

I thought Corrente fought Haley better than anybody else since he got called up last season.
