NY Islanders at New Jersey 11/6/09

Vote: Tim Jackman vs David Clarkson Nov 6, 2009

Tim Jackman vs. David Clarkson

As usual Scott Gordon starts his 4th line for the game, Clarkson is on the Devils 2nd line with Zubrus and Bergfors but as soon as the puck is on it's way out of the Isles zone Clarkson goes after Jackman. He issues the challenge and Jackman accepts. The beginning of the fight was from the replay, I was cooking dinner so I missed some of the actual fight but here goes:

They drop them along the boards almost at the Isles blue line and immediately exchange a couple,Clarkson looked to land a quick short right, once they get going it's Clarkson with rights and Jackman with lefts, didn't look like a lot landed at first but Jackman is leaking from the nose, possibly from the first punch of Clarkson's.

They tie up a bit in tight and Jackman is trying to get Clarkson's helmet off when the linesmen intervene. Clarkson received an extra 2 for holding on the play, as he basically grabbed Jackman and wouldn't let him go until he agreed to fight.

Looked like a draw, I'd need a good replay to see what really landed.

I only caught the last few seconds of the fight, which is why I didn't write up a recap, and I agree it was a very good draw.

Yeah it seemed like even if Clarkson's first punch landed hard enough to draw some blood from Jackman's nose that the rest of the fight was really even and Jackman landed a few too. So on first view definite draw.

Good scrap between Jackman and Clarkson right at the start of the game. Both landed a few good shots, and Jackman was left leaking a little bit. Solid draw.

And even though Clarkson got the extra two for trying to get this fight started, out of principle I was glad the officials only gave him a holding penalty instead of an instigator.

Great scrap. Draw. Both guys landed some good shots and it was nice to see a little toe to toe exchange in the beginning!

Not a bad way to start a hockey game, looked like a solid draw to me too.

On another note - no fan should be allowed to sit in the first few rows while wearing argyle sweaters. Leave that sh!t at the office or the golf course, doesn't belong at a hockey game at all. JMHO.
