Props to Carkner for getting back up, but who is to say that he wasn't "standing stunned" and setting himself up to get rocked in a bad way if the fight continued? Lucic could have landed more on Carkner on the ice or on the way up too if he wanted to... but he didn't, and the refs jumped in for the same reason: when you get your knees buckled and dropped like that it is considered a tko and the fight is over.
Exactly.

After second look, that's most defiantly a TKO win to Lucic.

The fact of the matter is, is Lucic has always been a threat. The whole spot picker talk about him or the talk about him shying away from heavies is irrelevant at this point. The kid can hang with just about everyone.

After that I think we can lay the bs talk about Lucic to rest, including myself.

I'm really glad this doesn't happened three or four years ago, pheeew.

There's no point for me to comment on the outcome of the fight at this point, besides that i enjoyed seeing Carkner getting dropped.

Like the time Lucic beat Carkner, then got dropped by Lucic the next time around trying to fight lefty?

Or like the time when Orr TKO'd Matt.....then got knocked the phuk out 2 fights after that?

Ya, Matt learns his lessons and comes back better than ever!

I dont believe what my eyes are seeing. I thought Lucic-Carkner will be a trashing of Lucic. Instead he dropped big Carkner.

Respect Lucic. Love this season

Win Lucic. Sends Carkner down to the ice with a solid punch to the jaw. Nothing shocking about the result. Lucic proved long ago that he's a big rig who can hang with and beat the best fighters in the league. And he can play the game. No idea why people would want to hate on him. He's great for the sport...

Oh of course, you're right... because the normal rules don't apply to Lucic fights. Hell, I'm surprised you didn't give Carkner the win for using his jaw to smash Looch's fist

Why is that suprising. Lucic has shown to have a powerful punch, plus he used to box, and Carkner has shown before he can be dropped.

Win Lucic. I really love his fights because he has that kind of "old-school fight technique"...no jersey jabs and grappling and all that stuff, just grab on and throw'em.

Hanging out with a friend last night and when we saw the TKO all I said was that he would puke if he saw who we picked in the draft instead of Milan. When his curiosity led him to the computer and we saw it was Sanguinetti I almost fainted. What a treasure this guy is. It didn't help that Girouxe was the pick right after Sanguinetti either. You Boston fans are so damn lucky to have this guy.

You won't find one post of mine where I've bashed Lucic or any other Bruin not named Andrew Ference (for getting beat by Crosby).

I just don't think it was a TKO. To me, it's a KD.

On a side note, djaye must be heartbroken.

The only thing missing from Lucics "resume" was him dropping someone. I've seen him dominate people, but I can't remember him ever dropping anyone like this before...

The best part of this is when the play the Sabres, and if John Scott comes looking for him, Lucic is going to have to fight him. He just beat a legit heavyweight, pretty easily.

No excuses...
