The TKO vs KD debate in this thread is pointless considering there is no official definition for TKO's in a hockey fight. Personally I never call KD's, if a guy goes down because of a punch it's either a TKO or a KO.

So.....you already alluded to that, I'm asking you for some substance to back up your claim. Not a half assed retort.

In reality if looch nails Scott with a punch he may go to bed. I'll give credit to Carkner for even standing up to getting blasted like that

WTF was Carkner trying to prove. He's got one of the heaviest right hands in the game and he tries to fight Lucic left handed! Why, he did not even attempt one right so you can't day he switched hands.
He's beat Orr , Godard , brashear and even Boogaard and you just don't expect lucic to pummel him so easily! Take nothing from lucic though he's going to be a force for along time. Wish Boulton would have dressed. He and Thornton would have went for sure after that to try and get some momentum back . Hopefully in the rematch we will see this . |

LMAO about people saying he just "popped back up and wanted to continue" --as if the fight was still in question but Carkner was held back.
Props to Carkner for getting back up, but who is to say that he wasn't "standing stunned" and setting himself up to get rocked in a bad way if the fight continued? Lucic could have landed more on Carkner on the ice or on the way up too if he wanted to... but he didn't, and the refs jumped in for the same reason: when you get your knees buckled and dropped like that it is considered a tko and the fight is over. |
