Vote: Andrew Peters vs Matt Carkner Nov 7, 2009

Andrew Peters vs. Matt Carkner

As the play goes into the Ottawa zone, you see Peters slowly skating towards Carkner, and they simultaneously drop the mitts and square off.

They each threw with both hands, starting off slowly but then really picking up at the end. I think I saw Carkner land more quality shots than Peters before they both went to the ice together.

Win Carkner.

First fight of the game, Carkner and Peters.

My gut reaction says win Carkner, my only regret being that he refrained from biting him.

Carkner landed two big lefts. Peters tried to do his usual grab on, and move your head as far away as possible.

God Peters sucks, PL3 is so much better.

Win Carkner.

Yeah he did. The fight started like every other Peters fight. Grabbed with the left, jersey jabbed and turned his head when Carkner returned a punch. Finally Peters realized Matt Carkner isn't the 2nd coming of Joey Kocur and felt it was ok to trade with him a little.

He still sucks and that fight was over way too quickly.

Peters may have hurt his hand in this fight, as he threw a heavy punch into the ice when all was said and done.

Yes he did. He does it every time. It's a shame he's playing over a guy like PL3.

I don't blame you. He did really well against McGrattan, though. He needs to get back on the juice. It is incredible that he is still in the NHL.

Matt Carkner vs. Andrew Peters

Peters issues the challenge, and they drop 'em. Not too much happening from the start until Carkner changes hands which enables him to land a couple of decent shots. Peters landed a few of his own, but Carkner seemed to get the better of the exchange. Peters landed his hardest punch straight into the ice, hopefully he didn't break his hand.

Edge Carkner

Peters is back for the 2nd... I can see a re-match or a Neil scrap if the Devils keep getting dominated.

Carkner did it again.. A guy challenged him and he should have turned him down because he wasn't there heavy.. right.. What a spot picker..

The exchange looked pretty even to me and I'm gonna call it a draw.
I think Carkner getting the take-down makes it seem like more of an edge.

Yeah, I can see it as a draw. Nothing substantial landed either way. It was close, I gave it an edge for Carkner, but a draw is a fair call on this one between two of the most boring fighters in the league.
