How are any of you guys calling a winner in these fights when the camera is constantly switching and youre only seeing 1/2 of each scrap?

Here's some more post game quotes.

Quote:
Janssen said he absorbed a punch while looking over to see how Boulton was doing.

"During the fight I kind of peeked over. I think I ate one when I did that," Janssen said. "i wanted to see what was going on over there."
Quote:
“The crowd was into the game as it was," Zach Parise said. "Not too often you see two separate fights right at the start of the game. It was a great job by them.”
Quote:
“It’s a tough job those guys have," Brodeur pointed out. "I think they were excited to be in the starting lineup. They knew what they had to do and they did it and did it in good fashion. After that it cleared the air for the rest of the game and it was just a good hockey game.”
Quote:
Goalie Martin Brodeur wondered what was going to happen at the start.

“When you see a certain type of player on the ice you always think about it, but usually it doesn’t happen. Usually guys will talk to each other and the referee will get in the way," Brodeur said. "It perfect timing, almost like figure skating. Synchronized fighting. They dropped (their gloves) at the same time.”

Ok

Great way to start a Game. Wish the angles were better. Have to go with a draw for both fights maybe Rupp and Bolton Controlled their fights a little more but really neither did anything to wins their fights.

As far as the goal is concerned, by the letter of rule it should have counted, they even asked Volchenkov if he pushed him and he said A little bit as Gabby was clearly trying to stop... that being said you need to score more than a goal like that...Marty played well. The rivalry seems to be back in full swing lets hope it lasts.

Hate to admit it because they are the Flyers most tough and direct competition this year but I like the way the Rangers play. They have a mentality just like the Flyers and both have coaches with the same philosophies and similar attitudes.

I don't care for Rupp either way but it was cool to see him go off the faceoff like that. Rupp is one of those guys who is big enough to be a light heavyweight (which, with the elimination of the goon, is creeping back up to heavyweight) but his fighting skill drops him down to middleweight. Janssen is good competition for him though, and he fared pretty well coming off an injured hand. Speaking of which, anyone know the update on that? Looked like he hurt it again during the fight.

How can you not like someone like Prust. It's a joke that some people here were getting on him for hugging Sestito. I don't think anyone has ever questioned Prust's heart. Guy just looks ready to go at all times. Always has the same serious look on his face. His roommate is a big f@ggot though.

Draw in both fights. The Atlantic division is the most entertaining division for fights this year.

Well said Orange Line, and I don't think any Flyer fan likesMike "Glass Jaw" Rupp. He's a big spot picker and actually thinks he is a good player. He has 4 points in 29 games, no assists, great job...

Rupp has wins over some of the better HWs in the league, including Orr who was the people's champ a few seasons back. He's definitely better than a MW, and I think most people would consider him better than a LHW. He's a middle-of the pack HW in my book, not the best fighter but more than capable of hanging with the big boys. Kind of an Andre Roy type in that regard, loses the fights you think he'll win easily and then comes out next fight looking like a top 5 HW.

Janssen (with his limited reach) unfortunately hits nothing but air once again, he had an opportunity for cheapshotting Rupp when he slipped but didnt catch him there either.

So, WIN Rupp.
