Minnesota at Calgary 1/9/07

Please vote! Derek Boogaard vs Eric Godard These two line up at center ice, right after a Flames' goal, and drop the gloves. They don't square off, and just grab ahold of eachother from the start. Boogaard misses with a couple rights, then throws one right body punch. Then, Godard responds with a few rights, hitting the target with atleast one. Boogaard switches to his left hand, and throws one, hitting the side of Godard's helmet. Boogaard switches back to his right, throwing one that hits Godard's helmet once again. They both exchange a few more rights, with Godard for sure landing one, and Boogaard missed with a couple. They exchange a few more rights, this time they both land a solid right or two. Godard throws a few more rights, hitting Boogaard's helmet, causing Boogaard to fall to both knees, but he quickly gets back up. As he gets up, Godard throws a couple more rights, the last one possibly connecting to the left side of Boogaard's face, sending Boogaard to his knees again, and the linesmen decide to move in. Both Boogaard vs Godard clips are the same footage. The one that ends in _480 is 480x360, which is larger than the standard 320x240. Last edited by VodkaFish; 01-09-2007 at 11:57 PM. Reason: video |

I give Godard the win. Got in some last shots before the end of the fight, and seemed to daze Boogard.
Boogard was heading to the wrong penalty box at first, and then went off the ice for medical attention. I hope Boogard goes after Godard to try to beat him. (Not that I don't like Godard, but I just want to see another fight between these two) |

Boogard vs Godard
Calgary scores a goal... the opening draw Boogard comes over to line up beside Godard.. not much of a chat, they drop em' as soon as the gloves hit the ice.. Boogie starts off with two decent rights, Godard a right.. they tie up, Godard gets the right out of the jersey, lands a solid right to the side of Boogards head... Boogard comes back with an uppercut that seemed to land... (the look on Godards face made me think it connected) Godard them starts throwing bombs.. and I mean bombs... three solid rights to Boogards head... Boogie goes down.. but gets back up... and Godard lands two more solid rights that land flush to the Boogiemans face... and down goes the Giant... on his way to the box, it looked as though Boogard was cut on the left side of his head... I would guess it was the helmet that did the damage.. he ended up leaving for the dressing room for repairs... after he got up from the fight, he went to the Flames Penalty Box.. he was definetly rattled. |

I bet ol Eric changed a lot of minds tonight coming up with a big win when most of the haters gave him no chance.

hockeyfights 101: Never trust a radio broadcast.
Well, this is interesting. I was listening to a radio feed from Minnesota and the Tom Reed (their radio guy) said during the fight that: "Boogaard has Godard in trouble" after he called a couple of Boogaard rights.....next thing you know Godard tosses a couple of his own, knocks Boogaard to a knee and then takes him down. Can't wait to SEE what happened.
They did say that Boogaard was heading off for 'some sort of repairs' |
