He's not a heavy weight enforcer...and the team is being irresponsible if they expect him to be.

He's 6'4" 215 and fights all the other teams' heavies, so yes he is their HW.

well in my eyes oilers have a choice Mcmorrow or Stortini.. its a tough choice really fighting is a big edge to Mcmorrow but stortini has more skill (doesnt get points but his plays lead to points) i think i would have to go with Mcmorrow because he still could lead to goals but if he played on the oilers fulltime the oilers 4th line would get WAY less ice time

Hordichuk mentioned that he jammed his thumb so he may not drop the gloves. I'm hoping Brown-Huxley round 2. Both these guys can throw the knuckles so look for them to avenge that crap fight. There's a ton of tough guys in the lineup, so there's gotta be at least 1 decent fight.

I think we have established on this site that your height and weight does not always determine if you are a HW or not.

Are you simply trying to argue? I am a die hard Oil fan but am aware that Storts is not a legitimate HW. He may have the size but his ability is simply not there.

Based on the fact he can't hang with REAL HW's it's irresponsible to expect him too.

What is wrong with that statement? Is not true?

Stortini is playing the heavyweight role with a middleweight set of skills. Still, it's no excuse to not attempt much against McIver.

No way! He's too big an asset to have squandered fighting another clumsy Canuck this year!

That's exactly what I'm arguing. Fighting class in hockey is determined by who your competition consists of. If you fight pretty much all heavies, you're a heavy. If you fight pretty much all middles, you're a middle, no? That would make Stortini a heavyweight, in addition to his big size.

Still, this kind of bout between Stortini and McIver should be nothing less than expected:

Stortini Vs. McIver, Mar.20, 2008

I disagree.

he is forced into fighting people who are way out of his league.

This makes him an overmatched MW or LHW

Well at least we can agree that he's bad at what he does.

Wow nice energy from Brule (despite not throwing one solid hit).

Brown Vs. Brule is a definite "no go."
