old news now, but:

--Unhappy with the position of Edmonton defenseman Sheldon Souray's wrist guard, NHL senior executive vice president Colin Campbell told the Minneapolis Star Tribune on Monday that he's talked to the Oilers and will meet with Souray and the Oilers' medical trainer during All-Star Weekend in Montreal. Wild RW Craig Weller suffered a head injury Thursday when he was struck by Souray's wrist protector during a fight.

doesn't sound like there will be any discipline, but there probably will be next time he wants to punch someone.

I've pumped season ticket money into this club every year since the team was founded, but it's always been a "we do it OUR way" thing with Risebrough and Lemaire. The more the fans want something, the less likely it is it'll happen. They gotta show us who's boss.

Kind of like Childress and the Vikings.
You should be punched for comparing the Wild to the Vikes.

I'd put it this way, if Shel wasn't gifted as a defenseman with a bomb of a shot and had such a great offensive upside, he could be as good, if not better, of a fighter than another defenseman known for heavy hands - Eric Cairns (circa 03-04).

Iggy = RIP - if he ever tangled with Shel.
Christ I looked at his fight card (Souray) going all the way back and from this season backward he doesn't have a loss until you hit the 2000-2001 season.
I never realized he was actually that dominating.

And that loss was to Nazarov.
