Colorado at Carolina 1/8/10
Vote: Darcy Tucker vs Tuomo Ruutu Jan 8, 2010
Vote: Ryan Wilson vs Tom Kostopoulos Jan 8, 2010
Ryan Wilson vs. Tom Kostopoulos Wilson hits Kostopoulos into the boards and as the play continues up ice, they drop the mitts along the boards. The camera was late getting to the fight, and once it got there, it showed them already engaged in throwing punches. It appeared to me that most of Kostopoulos' punches hit helmet, while Wilson's actually landed. Win Wilson. Vote: Chris Stewart vs Tim Gleason Jan 8, 2010

This game has been pretty chippy. Scrums after every whistle, several player running each other, couple fights etc.
I wouldn't be suprised to see more. The Refs have called tons of penalties, but that hasn't stopped it yet. 42 minutes in Penalties in the first. |

Gleason vs. Stewart!!
This one was coming from late in the 1st when they both got roughing minors. They go at center ice faceoff right after a goal by the Hurricanes. Starts out with a good standoff, and then they grab jerseys. Gleason is giving up alittle height and reach it looked like. Both threw a couple, not sure anything landed, Stewart gets Gleason's jersey over his head, Gleason throws a few blind while Stewart chucks a few as they are spinning. Gleason eventually goes down enough for the linesmen to step in. |

Tuomo Ruutu vs Darcy Tucker
Ruutu boarded Tucker the last time these two played and was suspended for it. Tuomo isn't the fighter or instigator his brother is but has some fight in him and mans up to take this one. They're talking before the faceoff and drop the gloves right after, Tuomo is grabbing for position doing a good job of locking Tucker out and Tucker gets Tuomos visor/helmet off. Tucker gets his right free and Tuomo possibly eats the first right can't really tell if he does or if he turns his head away from it. They're both throwing some pretty heavy shots back and forth, Ruutu throws a right at 0:27 that looks to hit the back of Tuckers helmet, Ruutu throws another right missing and they go down. I mention the right by Tuomo to the back of Tuckers helmet because he went off the ice after the fight and did not return. It is believed Tuomo went off for a hand injury but not being able to see him its hard to say if Tuckers first punch landed or not, if so it could possibly be a facial injury of some kind. Draw at this point until we find out otherwise. Ryan Wilson vs Tom Kostopoulos Cameras get in late but looks like mostly Wilson in this one with Kostopoulos keeping his distance. Wilson looks to land the only punches, a couple of rights and Kostopoulos eventually jerseys him. Win Wilson Tim Gleason vs Chris Stewart These two were chirping most of the first period and were both in the box to end the 1st. They decided to settle it within the first 2 minutes of the second and drop the gloves off a faceoff. Not as good of a fight as I had hoped for, Gleason starts out swinging and looks to get in an early right and Stewart pulls his jersey over his head right away. Looks like Stewart hits him with one while jersey'd and Gleason still continues to swing away and looks to land another right. I dont know if Stewart let up on him after he covered his head or couldn't believe Gleason was still throwing and landing punches but he lets up after that and the refs move in. Win Gleason Last edited by Jensen; 01-09-2010 at 01:48 AM. |

What a spirited game. The refs really tried their best to ruin this one.
Win Gleason? haha honestly? Gleason missed what he threw and Stewart completely stopped when the jersey went over the head and Gleason threw a couple blind and basically fell to his knees to try to end the fight (I wouldnt really call it turtling....) at the end although Stewart wasnt going to throw any... Tucker - Ruutu - Draw, if only the last Tucker punch anded Wilson - Kostopoulos Win Wilson Last edited by The_Sheriff; 01-09-2010 at 03:33 AM. |

Wilson vs Kostopoulos=CLEAR DRAW(hands down guys), no clear adv by either fighter as both landed 4-5 decent/Ok punches in this spirited scrap!!
Tucker vs Ruutu=EDGE Ruutu who landed couple though and he controlled the end part of the fight. Big win for younger Ruutu!! Stewart vs Gleason=Quite CLEAR DRAW but i also understand edge Stewart(who had control). But Gleason threw few punches of his own, landing 1-2. Stewart failed to land anything good though. Not much landed here, no many punches were thrown by either man. DRAW, HANDS DOWN! (: OK fight. |
