Vote: Duncan Keith vs Andrew Desjardins Feb 5, 2013
Duncan Keith vs Andrew Desjardins Feb 5, 2013 -...

Andrew Desjardins levels Jamal Mayers with an open ice hit, as Mayers is looking for the puck. On first and second view, the hit looked like it was a good hit and nothing more.

As Mayers lays on the ice, Keith goes after him and a short tussle takes place. I think Keith was overwhelmed by the bigger man. Have to see the vid to see what landed as the camera got there late.

Win Desjardins

Desjardins got five for fighting and five for a hit to the head, but, it looked like a clean open ice hit with more shoulder to shoulder.

That call on Desjardins was in the same realm of awfulness as the call on Backes.

def a clean hit but damn good job for Keith to go after him on a hit like that, it rocked Mayers.

I wish Mayers was still a shark.

Win Dejardins who has much more exp in fighting.

the league wont suspend him.

That's an awful call on the hit. Even at full speed. Awful call.

holy crap...olczyk actually didn't go off on a bitchfest about the hit. bad call, clean hit, not even worth fighting majors either. another bad call by a ref to be rescinded by the league.

mayers got caught in no man's land fishing for the puck, nice response by Keith to stick up for his teammate. Hit didn't look to be a penalty, officiating has been brutal this season.

Wow, the NHL is so scattered in what is a clean hit and what isn't and that was a clean hit.

How Erskine didn't even get a penalty but the Shark gets 900 minutes for a CLEAN hit is just absurd.

Clean hit. Mayers looked up ice and had to see him there. Should not be suspension worthy.

Horrible F**king call,,, the NHL may rescind the call,,, but they won't take the GW goal away that was scored on the PP from this call. That's the BS part to me,,, it's not that the zebras got it wrong(WAY WRONG).. It's that the sharks got the loss from the call. It changed everything. Maybe the NHL coaches should have some type of challenge or replay , just like MOST MAJOR sports have it now a days,, HELL even soccer is getting replay next season.
