Vote: Koci vs Ivanans Jan 01, 2008
David Koci vs Raitis Ivanans Trying to spark his team, Koci takes on Ivanans in the LA zone. Koci lands the first right, flush on Ivanans' face. Alot of big punches going back and forth, from the camera angle, you can clearly see Ivanans getting tagged. But, Ivanans throwing as well, landing just as many. Both players get 5 + 10 for jawing afterwards..BS Good Fight Solid Draw Last edited by VodkaFish; 01-02-2008 at 03:48 AM. Reason: video added |

Raitis Ivanans vs. David Koci
Ivanans is talking with Adam Burish right at the faceoff. Quick line change and Koci hops on the ice. Solid slug fest. Not sure how many punches connected. Look to be a draw. Both keep slugging after the linesmen convene. Both fighters get the extra 10 for not breaking it up. Would not be surprised if we saw a Round 2 in the 3rd.

David Koci vs. Raitis Ivanans
Just before a faceoff, Ivanans and Adam Burish are talking. As the puck drops, Burish skates away from Ivanans, perhaps to the Chicago bench(?). Ivanans bumps Dowell at the blue line, and he turns around and immediately drops the gloves as he sees Koci come on the ice. They each toss their gloves away and square off in a good length bout. From what I could see as a fan of neither the Hawks nor the Kings, both guys looked like they landed several shots, with Koci switching hands a couple of times. First view, I'll say draw, as both guys appeared to land the same amount of punches.

David Koci vs Raitis Ivanans
At the faceoff Ivanans is lined up with Burish and is yapping at him. As soon as the puck drops, Burish heads to the bench and Koci pops onto the ice. He immediately gets Ivanan's attention and they throw down the gloves and square off. When they come together, Koci starts off with 2 rights. Ivanans comes back with about 4-5 rights of his own, the first couple landing, the rest coming up short and hitting Koci's shoulder pads. They grapple for a couple seconds, and Koci fires off another combo, including an uppercut that looked pretty good. Ivanans answers with some of his own. They grapple again and the linesmen get in-between but the fighters still want more and Koci throws a shot at Ivanans over the linesmen. They both look pretty pissed and yap at each other going to the boxes. Draw in a decent fight I think they both got misconducts for the post-fight activities as well which is b.s. as nothing really happened. |

agree on the 2nd meeting if they see the ice together again. Ivanans was pretty pissed while skating to the box. He was making mean faces too!

David Koci vs Raitis Ivanans
the fight was in the second period, but this was a lock after Adam Burrish checked Anze Kopitar from behind in the first period. Ivanans lines up against Burrish and immidately starts to "chat" with Adam. once the puck is dropped, Burrish skates away from Ivanans, and goes for a change so Koci can come off the bench to take on Ivanans. the fight was spirited, but very uneventful. both guys swinging for the fences, but no one lands anything of any consequence. both guys may have landed 2-3 punches out of all they threw. draw, but its a Kings fight, so i'll take it!!! i think its cool Koci did not get a lame penalty for comming off the bench specifically to fight, but both he and Ivanans got 10 minutes misconducts for jawing at each other after the fight.

Round two almost guaranteed.
They were both pissed after that one, with Ivanans making angry faces and yapping it up, and Koci likewise yapping it up and punching the glass on his way into the box. I'd have to say draw on first viewing, both connected with a couple but nothing major. |

i'd like to see Thornton go with either Seabrook or Lapointe, or maybe the Byfuglien kid. he's a big kid, i'd like to see how he would do.
6-2 Kings, come on Hawks get to'em.
