I thought an instigator can only be called if fighting majors are assessed. No?

Anyway, the instigator will probably result in a fine for suave and coach.

why hand out the instagator penalty if you arent gonna attach the 5?? i think there shouldnt be any fines if there is no fighting major.... i dont get it.

ESPN.com has it listed as a double minor for Aebischer(instigator, roughing) and a minor for leaving the crease and a misconduct for Sauve.

Aebischer was removed from the game for the last 32 seconds. That means he must've gotten a major or misconduct, right? If he only got a roughing minor than the penalty could've been served by an Avalanche player, no?

Unless of course he was removed because of a coach's decision...

According to NHL.com, Sauve got an instigator, leaving the crease, and misconduct. Aebischer got a single roughing.

How the hell does Sauve get an instigator when no further penalty is assessed? This is ridiculous and I believe is just a way to get him suspended or fined.
