may wanna watch it again.mclaren does get up,but he looks about as tired as scott and doesn't throw another punch or go after him anymore. Looks mutual to me, def not a 'bail'. Last edited by pmcginty; 02-22-2013 at 06:09 AM. |

Not sure how to score that one. No real evidence of that shot putting McLaren to the ice or was just a balance thing.
Either way, Scott was outted again as McLaren did real well against the big guy, using his jersey jab to perfection to keep Scott at bay while taking a note out of the Orr play book as he landed a few nice body shots to mix it up. I'll go draw I guess. Could be a KD for Scott, just as it could be an edge for McLaren for doing more in the fight. Win for us fans!

Not a bad fight, I think McLaren did very well and controlled the fight but he didn't land much. Not sure if Scott's last punch buckled McLaren so I'll call it a draw.
Draw

Scott just about debilitated the Maple Leaf with the last punch. Scott gets the clear win here. |

Thanks for posting the slomo djaye. Now I just wish I could watch the damn thing. I copy and paste the url and I am getting nothing. Main thing I want to see is if the punch hit helmet because it sure looked like that to me. I hope the TSN feed is the one slowed down because you could actually see the punch from that angle. Tougher to see in regular speed because the switch was right when the punch was on its way but it should be easy slowed down.

Based on the various calls of this fight (some biased, some not), I'm guessing that if this were a boxing or MMA match, and it was being scored by 3 impartial judges, the result would be a split decision, hence, a draw in this case.
I will say that Scott looked either disinterested or over-confident, I'm just sure not which one. Only he knows, I guess. McLaren was the more agressive fighter for sure. 'Tis all. |

I don't know how anyone can give the decision to either man. McLaren's first two or three punches appeared to be glancing blows, he landed a few body shots, but, all in all he didn't do much damage.
The same applies to Scott. I'm not sure how impactful that last punch was. If the punch did result in Mclaren going down, that swings things in Scott's favour. As a Leaf fan, I can claim a moral victory for McLaren, I was worried for him when the fight started. I think Scott should have kept throwing when McLaren went down, I'm not quite sure why he stopped. If he had landed a nice one, there would be absolutely no debate as to the winner in this one. |

For those who didn't replace the XX with TT in djaye's slow-mo upload, I'll do it for you...
Slow-Mo:
The punch in questions is at about the 31 second mark, it clearly rocks McLaren's head sideways. Looks like a KD win for Scott.
