I admit that I don't know very much about the Buffalo Sabres, don't see alot of them in Ohio, but isnt Kassian supposed to be a very good power forward?

I think Prust did the Sabres a favor by picking a fight with Gaustad and not Kassian. I'm not saying Kassian wouldn't hold his own, or quite possibly win, but it seems the Sabres are intent on keeping him on a short leash when it comes to fighting and want him to devolp into a solid power forward. Fight to stick up for yourself or your teammates for sure, but don't waste time with "momentum" fights.

Win Prust.

Good lord, Jack, take a break. No, I'm not going hunting back over old posts...I have neither the time or inclination. If you don't feel that you and other Buffalo fans somehow saw Goose's beating by Lucic as "standing up" for their gutless reaction in the previous meeting then I must have read it on some other forum...far, far away.

Decent scrap, Prust gets the win. I'm not really sure why people are so upset that Prust went with Gaustad instead of Kassian. It's not like he fought Nathan Gerbe, Gaustad may not be the best fighter, but he's definitely no stranger to doing this sort of thing.

Pretty funny to watch the linesman take a spill while they were scrapping too.

Wasn't Gaustad the chosen Buffalo warrior who crossed the face off circle to fight Lucic and restore the Sabre's honor the game after Lucic ran Miller? Let me see if I understand Buffalo logic...he's tough enough to fight Lucic but he's in over his head against Prust? I'll need some salt on that pretzel logic, wouldn't you agree?

Chosen warrior? I guess I have to explain it to you yet again, perhaps it will sink on this time?

Gaustad was on the ice when Lucic steamrolled Miller. He was rightfully excoriated by fans, media and the hockey world in general for not doing anything. It was his responsibility. He wasn't fighting to try and avenge the hit. It wasn't about winning, it was about showing up. He ditched the lid, squared off, and had a fair fight... so what's your problem other than your usual attempt at veiled trolling?

Not surprised you backed off the comment about being swelled with pride, because you can't back it up.

Besides, it is not Prust's job to fight Kassian, though we know he would do it. That would be Rupp's job and he just doesn't feel like doing his job recently. Ruff put Kassian out on the next faceoff and Torts put Rupp out. They lined up against eachother and I didn't see much in the form of a challenge. If I had to guess I would bet Kassian offered a verbal invite and Rupp declined. I didn't see anything but if you look at the circumstances you would have to lean that way. Your on the road, Prust goes looking for a fight with Gaustad, your coach puts you out there after the fight and the opposing coach counters with Rupp. Kassian had to be looking for a scrap there and Rupp should have been following Prust's lead and looking to fight. Rupp has been useless of late.

I wouldn't be so sure that Kassian challenged him Pes. I heard a recent interveiw with Kassian in Rochester where he stated he "doesn't have to go looking for fights". I'm pretty sure someone in the organization is in his ear, and trying to make sure he stay's on a short leash. That being said having watched Rupp for the first time in a while man was he quite. He should be running around on a team like the Sabres. What's up with that?

Gaustad is horrid at fighting. I'd just as soon see him keep his gloves on. it's embarrasing to watch.

Maybe Rupp just didn't feel Kassian was relevant out there. He called Jody Shelley Irrelevant during the outdoor game. What a dick Shelley should have popped him anyway to show Rupp that he was Relevant

I guess Ruff could have put him out there as a deterrent. I was really shocked they didn't go and the way Rupp has been playing I have to blame him. The Rangers really could have used that second scrap at home to get some energy that has been lacking.

Rupp has layed a few people out every now and then but really he has to catch the guy in a bad position. He has not been fast or agile enough to get to people. He seems to enjoy watching Bickel do the heavy loading.

Shelley didn't play in the outdoor game. Rupp called him irrelevant the game before in New York. Being a rival of the Flyers and their fans you have to understand, I have heard all about that around 57 times. Unfortunately Rupp has not given us enough reasons to put it in the past.

Rupp has been a f*cking joke. Ever since he pummeled Kopecky he hasn't enforced at all.

With all the fights between the Flyers and Rangers this season its shocking he hasn't even been involved in one. Meanwhile he lets Bickel have to take on the big guys and Prust too.

Guy is just collecting a paycheck right now. His hand should be healed by now from the Boulton slash, Im just not sure what his problem is. He's lacking a killer instinct or something.
