Buffalo at Boston 11/7/09

Vote: Steve Montador vs Shawn Thornton Nov 7, 2009

Shawn Thornton vs. Steve Montador

They have words as they go to a TV timeout. They come back from the commercial and immediately drop the mitts and square off right off the draw. Thornton looked like he could have really thumped Montador but held back when Montador went down to a knee. The fight ended with Thornton putting Montador down with a flurry of rights.

Win Thornton.

Vote: Paul Gaustad vs Shawn Thornton Nov 7, 2009

Didn't look like much landed but Thornton gets the win for being more active.

Montador should have went with Carcillo last night instead.
Thornton with the win.

Thornton was too much for Montador. This is where the Sabres will miss having a heavy on the roster (even if it was Andrew Peters).

Thornton with the definite win in this one. Just caught the replay.

Stupid Sabres should be carrying a HW. Montador should never have to take on Thornton. I think Thornton held up when Monty went down to a knee because they were teammates last year and Thornton always tends to abide by the code (not hitting a guy whose jerseyd, or on the ice).

Not surprised that Thornton won this one.

Props to Montador for going above his weight class and skill level.

When is a Boston Bruin going to fight someone he or she stand a lesser chance to beat? Good on you Shawn, that was some scalp

Thornton and Gaustad just fought, but I only caught the last few seconds of the fight.

Looked even nonetheless.

Like who? The Sabres don't have anyone who can stand up to Thornton.

Isn't Montador supposed to be Buffalo's toughest dummy?

Stuart vs Hecht

Shoving at the net they drop the mitts and Stuart pounds Hecht to the ground.

Win Stuart.

Jochen Hecht vs. Mark Stuart

Hecht's trying to poke the puck in the net with Stuart right there, and Stuart takes exception.

They drop the mitts, and Stuart begins the beatdown of the much-less experienced Hecht.

Win Stuart.
