If it was a KO, Thorton would lie on the ice for a longer time and without his sences. Ivanans MacIntyre was an example of a KO, you want these two fights in the same category? No. Tko win Scott and the fact Thorton LATER left the game has nothing to do with that

Love to here Jack Edwards excuses how Scott's role somehow different than Thorntons.

Fighting role or role in general? Shawn Thornton definitely plays a bigger role as a forward than John Scott does.

More hits, more shifts, more time on ice, can take draws if needed, more points as a player, plays a regular shift in all games, playoffs included.

Did he get killed by Scott, of course, but he's a bigger piece than John Scott will ever be.

You know those Boston announcers, their enforcer is actually someone who can play and doesn't start fights, he only reacts to them and oh by the way, never loses.

I swear, Jack Edwards must have listened to or watched a bunch of Derek Sanderson tapes, he's got the homer deal down perfectly but is just louder and more obnoxious. They are two peas in a pod, guys you want to reach into the tv and choke the life out of.

Scott definately got the upper hand from the start. Great pic at buffalonews.com of Scott with a handful of Thornton's helmet strap. Once you have control of a guys head its pretty much over. Thornton never had a chance. Can't wait for Feb 10th, very entertaining game.

At least Edwards calls the fight correctly but then goes into face saving mode by saying what a lump Scott is and how no one on the Boston roster is worth going off the ice with Scott. Hilarious stuff, Derek Sanderson clones those focktards are.

Exactly, Edwards says some similar stuff but is about half as bad as Sanderson.

When I watch ANY Bruin fights from the 80's, I just turn the sound off. I should laugh at it but the fact that these guys get paid a lot of money to say what they say is criminal.

I understand what you're saying, but Edwards is doing a telecast for NESN, not a national telecast. Derek was doing telecasts for NESN and TV38. I'm accustomed to it, actually find comedic value in it at times. I mean Derek said some real off the wall sh*t in the 80's-90's. Some of his fight calls are pure comedic gold. I can understand how a national audience might feel hearing it.

Any Bruins fan that truly likes Jack Edwards is delusional.

But, the rest of the NHL can point and laugh all they want, the Bruins are one of the best teams in the conference, win cups, and are tough.. if they want to laugh at that, have at it, they're the ones looking silly.

Payback for what? what does Shawn Thornton have to do with Buffalo getting payback? didn't they get payback when Paul Gaustad fought Lucic last year? how many fights for Buffalo/Boston going forward are going to be payback?

Does anyone expect the Bruins to just stop playing physical, and stop playing "their game" because Thornton got wrecked by Scott?
