Off a faceoff, they go. Scott got a jump on Thornton as Thornton was trying to get in close to Scott. Scott threw about 8 rights before Thornton went to ice.

Thornton tried to drop the gloves quick but Scott was ready and got him locked out. From there Scott throws about 6 unanswered rights with about 3 landing and Thornton bails. Easy win Scott. That better not be it.

Looked like Thornton was struggling to get back to his feet after getting dropped. Good to see that he is staying in the game after that.

That was a tko or borderline KO. I don't think Thornton would have beat a ten count on that one. He was having trouble trying to get up. I don't give out tko s or kos that easy but Shawn was clearly hurt there!!!

Who's nex?t the guy who should (Lucic ) or the size match up chara. My money is on Chara

Scott big win over Thornton, Thornton tried to get in close and kept catching punches on the way in.
Now that in my opinion is a TKO.
Scott and Thornton talking in the box, maybe round 2?
Chara may have better luck against Scott but who knows when and what makes that guy fight.

I know it's going to be debated to death, but that wasn't a kd or a tko or any such ing IMO. And spare me the "got the jump" crap. Thorton tried his damnedest to get the jump as to keep it tight and it didn't work.

Thornton slipped at the end, but he was outmuscled without a doubt. He didn't stand a chance from the start. Not because he isn't a good fighter, but because he just didn't get set. I'd expect a much better effort if they have a rematch.

Who was Scott pointing at immediately after the fight?

That last punch was nowhere near landing. Just checked it again and Scott landed 3 punches. It is possible one landed on the temple or there was another punch that looked to land near the back of the jaw but I can't see any of those shots being the reason Thornton went down. I am sticking with a clear bail and a clear win. Looked like an odd fight.

yikes. havent seen thornton beat like that for a long time, if ever.

chara might wanna step up. the bruins need to start hitting everything in sight, and get a fight going to let the sabrest know that isnt it. it better not be it. the game isnt too physical yet.

i used the term getting the jump as scott throwing the 1st punches while thornton tried to get himself inside of scott's reach. not jump as in instigator style.
