I agree with most of the unbiased calls
obvious win from Horton, love when he gets fired up, him fighting phaneuf and screaming at him all the way to the box earlier in the year had me loving him. wish he could play with that edge every game win cogs, marchand can't fight, I like to see him trying though, throws in a cheap shot but not a big deal really. plays the pest role well and is actually willing to answer for it when need be. Draw in a very exciting fight. Lucic looked gassed and Vandy let him recover to let the bout go on longer. thanks to him for not robbing us of seeing a great scrap. good to see lucic throw down as he has stepped up as a scorer (almost at 30 goals) and as such is fighting much less. good physical game |

was at the rink last night, late....
Due to being at the rink late last night, I'll have to chime in a bit late, but see the fights as follows:
Win Horton Win Cogliano Win Vandermeer Good to see a spirited/physical game between the Bruins and Oilers. Also nice to see Vandy and Lucic go at it. Safe to say that the Vandy/Lucic fight was the most entertaining, regaring stamina and punches thrown. Calling that fight was not easy, but I'm not a fan of the whole edge/slight edge 'thing', so I went with Vandy due to his nice clean shots to the chin of Milan. Would have liked to see a nice square off, but a fight is a fight between two guys that can handle themselves, I guess.

Just curious would you rather be the guy that won the first half of the fight or the last part. Sorry me i would have rather have been Lucic in that situation. That's the truth, and yes to be honest if that was 2 Yrs. ago Vandy would not have been standing at the end. But i am not management or the coach

Seriously..!
Sukoshi...we were hoping to see it happen too, especially with the physical game the two teams were playing. It seemed to be pretty spirited from the get go'. I believe there are a couple more meetings between the two teams; we can alweays hope...

It was funny how Jack Edwards thought Lucic was 'stunned' then came back then Brickley says "I dont think he was stunned". After watching it again, it looked like Vandy got the edge. Lucic isn't interested in fighting anymore which is fine with me. I'd be happy if he became more like Horton, only fight when you are really mad and try to score goals in the mean time.

It looked like Mac had challenged Thorton off the Draw 2x in the 1st, but nothing came of it. Not surprised overall if the challenge was issued and Thorton declined, it was early and Maybe Thorts was thinking about what Mac did to Ivanans. Nonetheless it happens!

Mac also tapped Thorts on the shins during play the shift before the Lucic/Vandy bout. I do not think Thorts ducks anyone... He has fought Boogaard... Godard... I will take him on the Isles (over Gillies = no brainer).
With respect to Lucic/Vandy... had Vandy not switched over, that becomes an entirely different fight with Lucic loosing bad (IMO). Lucic appear content to hold on until the lag in the fight, then the switch by Vandy, which allowed Lucic to throw freely.... |

Personally, I don't think Lucic was stunned or trying to end the fight when things quieted down there for a bit. I think he was just trying to catch his breath. I'm pretty sure he was at the end of a shift. Either way, the fight got off to a slow start & then got real entertaining at the end. Its great to see Vandy scrappin' again. He looks like he's got his edge back.
