BNOY, I forgot about Visnovsky haha. The only thing is, he's going to be 36. If he can put up numbers like he did a couple years ago, that's #1 material.

Now we need a big dude to put on the 3rd d-pair with Reese (who will presumably be back). That dude should not be named Jurcina, ****in' useless oaf.

That's just the way it's going to go."

just read on pointblank that visnovsky probably won't even play for the isles. can't really blame him, being an older player heading into the next nhl lockout.

Players would rather do anything than play on LI. Good job, garth. Get a guy that can help but appears he's already fleeing the country.

I sure hope there is no long term lockout. We could really use this dude.

visnovsky would be a great fit here. having streit, hamonic and him on the PP would be pretty sweet.

i think there's no chance he comes here, and i guess it is what it is.

i can't wait for this team to relocate to some dumb**** city, win the cup and have a ton of bandwagon fans. all this while we sit here getting nothing in return for loyally following this team for a lifetime.

Thank god for that. I just hope he plays half as good as he did two years ago.

They better re-sign Martin now.

wouldnt mind those 31 PPP he had 2 years ago..imagine if he could pull numbers like that here.

the matrin sign is a must...i say give him a little over his value and make the kid a permanent Islander.

I don't know, with the looming labor uncertainty for the NHL, I still have a bad feeling Visnovsky is going to end up playing in Europe, not on the Islanders. It would just fit with our luck, wouldn't it?

If he does play on the Island, he's definitely a significant upgrade for the blueline, but the guy's getting old too. As is Mark Streit. We can't really expect either guy to have a near-career year next season. So this is not nearly enough to overhaul what was a major weakness of the team last year. Garth still has work to do.

Losing Parenteau to free agency is going to be a huge hit. They're incapable of bringing in outside help, and there's no way to replace his offense from within.

I think PAP's level of production was really the product of the way the Islanders utilized him (even when they took him off Tavares's line). He played well here, but hopefully other teams realize his level of production is bound to drop significantly, especially on a deeper offensive roster. And that keeps the offers within reason so the Islanders have some outside chance of re-signing him after July 1st. But I'm sure that won't happen.

Any sort of lockout would kill Visnovskys chances of playing here so I hope everyone gets their **** together to prevent that. I dont think the NHL could afford another one, interest in this new-NHL is definitely not what it was before.

I pretty much agree with I4L on all points.
