I went to the game on Saturday for the 6-3 win. I was really impressed with the little things that Tavares was doing. His face-off wins and awareness on the ice is amazing. He is a great passer. Okposo is pretty damn good too. Both guys are skilled players. Let's keep it rolling!

Would love to see Westgart get the call instead of Meyer, but I know that isn't going to happen. Who played for Weight on Saturday? Sim has to sit when Hunter gets back this week. Anyone know what happened to Wrecker...why he was listed as out with an injury?

Blake Comeau played for Weight on Saturday and picked up a goal and an assist in his return to the lineup.

About one period left of the game, if they can't pull it off, they're not men enough to be in the playoff. This is the time to show what they're made of.

Thanks, KO!!

Classic Islanders. Come out firing and take the big early lead. And then blow it. At least Okposo came through for the win in overtime. And nice to see Tavares get his first multi-goal game.

Very true.

Who would've thought that Matt Moulson would be tied with Tavares in points (16)? That kid has been a pleasant surprise.

I have to say, at this point, Bailey is a bust. The Islanders ****ed up trying to rush his development and it really bit them in the ass. He almost looks overwhelmed every time he has the puck.

I wouldn't go as far as saying JB is a bust just yet, but it's obvious his development has been halted due to bad decisions of the management. Why not send him down for a while and see how that works?

They really should sent him down. The kid can't do anything with the puck here, he needs to see a little time in B-Port.

I just dont see how this happens!? Were up 2-0, i drive down to get some food, and its 3-2 Panthers when i get back! Im looking at the highlights and i just dont see what we're doing wrong. It just looks like the other team gets faster and more accurate or something. I dont see many fundamental mistakes.

Well part of the problem is the Islanders collapse whenever the other team ramps up their game. They did it again tonight. The Panthers played like sh*t in the first period, and then turned on their game in the second, and the Islanders stopped playing their game for a stretch. Thankfully they were able to get their act together and Tavares and Okposo were able to rescue a point out of this game for us.

It's never good when your goalie doesn't stop a single shot in the shootout. Roloson may only have 1 regulation loss this season, but I really think he looks very shaky in the net more often than not, even when the Islanders are able to get the win. We're really lucking out getting all these loser points for going to overtime in half the games so far this season. But right now we're 1-4 in shootouts. It would be nice if we could improve on that record...

yeah, we really have to start getting better at putting the puck in the net in these shootouts. Other then the one game, Roloson really can't stop s*** in the shootouts. I mean, almost every shot beats him. So we got to get better at scoring. You think we'd be experts by now. And I agree about Bailey. Every game he is doing things that make me cringe.

And is anyone else completely tired of seeing Sim out there on the ice? He seriously does nothing. Yeah I know he got an assist tonight. Big deal, the puck hit his skate and he got an assist. With as much as he plays you are going to eventually even accidentally get a point. I am just so tired of watching him skate around out there and doing nothing.

I'll tell you what, the more I see of Roloson/Biron/Danis/McDonald for the last couple of seasons, you really come to appreciate the skills of Rick DiPietro just a little bit more. If we can just continue to hang around until New Years, and Ricky finds his game, meaningful games in March and April is a realistic possibility.

Other than that, JT and Okposo are the real deal.

Oh yeah, 3 games in, 4 points, I'll take it.

Just to throw this out there: John Tavares is number 1 in rookie points/scoring and is also on page one of the overall points stats on NHL.com (top 30 in the league). He's gotta be the first offensive player on there for us in awhile.

I agree with CIG, KO and JT are the real deal, Moulson looked good but seems to have slowed up a bit with the scoring after the tear he was on.

Sim has been absolutely useless. The guy has NO business in an NHL arena, unless he is selling popcorn. Shremp should be waived immediately. Rolo looks shaky.

I know most people aren't ready to give up on Bailey. I think he needs a few months in Bridgeport. He just doesn't have the touch yet, the Isles totally ****ed up his development by keeping him up last year.

Its been a few games since the last fight, can we get one of those tomorrow?
