Would rather see McGrattan in the lineup instead of Brandon Yip though...

Brandon Yip gets into one with Montador and comes out on top as well.

(Sorry about the previous backhanded remark if you're reading Brandon. It's just that I want to see McGrattan pound Scott into the pavement...)

Boys are rolling along. Just when I thought he was getting into the usual get ready for playoffs and sit toughness routine, he up and plays McGrattan who promptly gets into one with Reaves.

Just a reminder Trotzy; playoffs start in just under 30 games. This is no time to pull the chute on the teams's toughness. The team has not made the playoffs yet.

Vancouver tonight in what should be a raucous and sold out Bridgestone Arena.

Would like to see Hornqvist and McGrattan back in the lineup soon and get this team back to full strength for the stretch run.

Since the trading started with first Gill, AK46, and Gaustad, the Preds are 5-1-1.

Andrei with a goal and an assist against the Panthers, Gaustad with his first apple, and he was 15 of 22 in the faceoff circle.

Preds trounce Chicago 6-1 and then can't figure out the trap against the Blues losing 3-0.

Doesn't get easier as the game in the gauntlet is at Joe Louis against the Wings.

Hopefully Trotz breaks the glass and lets McGrattan loose for a game just before the playoffs start when Chicago visits Nashville this Saturday.

Tootoo also says he's fine to go, but was held out as a precaution.

Destiny for home ice is in their hands after blanking Dallas 2-0 at Bridgestone as they are ahead of 5th place Detroit by one point.

Team is playing some damn good hockey going into the playoffs.

Preds rest 4 starters plus Rinne, until Lindback thumps his head on the ice, and still thump Colorado 6-1 in Denver to finish 4th in the West.

Home ice vs Detroit in the 1st round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Good game played by the boys tonight. Bourque is a playoff beast.

And while Weber might be suspended one game for his head smack of Zetterberg...as long as Gill is able to play Friday, then I think we will be okay.

Hal Gill was at practice, but only for a few momnets on the ice.

I'd expect the same lineup as Game 1.

Can really put boot to throat taking tonight's contest.

At 1:36 of the first period in Game 2, Weber accepted a challenge from Detroit's Todd Bertuzzi and both players received fighting majors during a sequence in which the officials had signaled for a delayed penalty against Detroit.

That penalty prevented Weber from being a part of his team's first power play -- something that Trotz normally does not want Weber to do, but in this case, the coach understood that there were special circumstances.

"If I knew the future I'd say 'No, don't do that,'" Trotz said. "I knew something was up and sometimes teams will stick up for guys. I probably would say our response would be very similar to Detroit's if something happened to one of our guys and we agreed or disagreed with what was done. There might be a little bit of a response.

"It's part of hockey. It's just sort of that code that sometimes the players have to govern each other and Shea's not going to back down from that. Most times, he'll back away from that because I don't want him [off] the ice, but that was a situation where in the NHL code, unwritten codes we have, sometimes you say 'OK, I get it. I'm here. Let's have closure to this issue and let's move on.' And really that's what happened."
