We were not ready to play in the first at all. On top of that, NJ scouted us well and found our line changes are beyond sloppy. Everyone on the ice changes at once and coasts to the bench, while all the Devils would have to do is fling the puck up the ice and they'd have an easy odd man rush.

The second period was much better, but the third just lacked a sense of urgency. I thought we shut the Devils down in the second and third for the most part other than a chance or two, but we should have come out with a lot more intensity in the third. They were trapping us well, but when we would dump the puck, we could rarely set up any solid pressure deep in their zone and we would not have a lot of net front presence to jump on the rebounds.

I thought Theo played a lot better and I would expect him to start Sunday. If we can just play like we did in the second period for an entire 60 minutes, we will win Sunday.

With that comeback victory tonight against New Jersey, I think the Panthers has earned some respect.

Huge win tonight and a great comback by the Cats! That was such a typical DeBoer blown lead though. Some things never change...

I'm excited to see what happens this summer. Our biggest need right now is scoring and I'd like to take a run at a goal scorer. I'm not really sure what Tallon has in mind exactly, but he knows what he has to do.

A mix of new acquisitions and incoming prospects should really help our scoring depth and that is the one missing piece the Panthers lack.

On the back end, Santos said he would prefer Markstrom to stay in San Antonio for another season. I would like to see him in the show splitting time with Theo, dut I thought the tandem of Theo and Clemmer really played well this season. Also, it sounds like Garrison has some interest to go to Vancouver if he doesn't resign with the Panthers.

All in all, it should be an interesting offseason. Tallon needs to improve our weaknesses and have another good draft. I'm pretty excited.

I hope so too. I thought Garrison improved a lot this season. Not just his scoring, but I thought he really buckled down defensively and showed a lot of improvement.

Out of the bunch that will probably not be resigned, I could see Sturm, Barch, and Madden. I think Wolski may get another look before they let him walk this summer. I thought he showed some decent offensive spurts and is a solid shootout guy, which was lacking all season for the Cats. Also, I do like Barch, but it's not like there's a major shortage of toughness on the FA list. If they don't resign him, the team needs to get another tough guy. Gudbranson and Bradley can't carry all the weight.

Here's what Santos had to say today:

Florida hasn't talked to VAN since the draft and a trade with Luongo is not imminent, but I've been hearing otherwise. Apparently, they would be happy with a Theodore/Markstrom duo, but may go after a veteran goaltender for a 1 year deal if the Luo deal doesn't pan. Garrison and other UFA's will test free agency. Also, the team will not be going for any top guys in free agency, but instead will look for key players to compliment the current core. Lastly, talks are still continuing with Versteeg, Kulikov, and the other RFA's and will continue next week.

Who knows how much of this is 100% true, but it's what management has to say at this time. We'll find out for sure in the next few days.

Yeah, I saw that a few days ago. Hopefully it's not anything too serious, but I heard more light would be shed on it this week. They said he would be starting in San Antonio if a lockout does occur, and he may end up there for the start of the season being the Panthers have 8 NHL ready defensemen.

It's been confirmed he'll be out about four months after surgery.
