Official Oilers Thread for 2012/2013 Season
So it's finally here!
The Oilers opened with a big win on opening night over the Canucks in a SO. It was nice to see Ebs on the board already, and Hemmer looking like he's in midseason form already. There are huge question marks surrounding this team: Can Dubnyk be a legit NHL starter? Just how good is Yak? Is he too cocky to the in that room? Is the Oilers D better on paper or in real life? Can Gagne be a legit top 6 forward? Can Hemmer stay healthy? Is there enough grit on this team to be truly competitive? If they make the playoffs, would they be hard to play against? Which Ryan Whitney shows up this year? Can Petry take the next step and play top D pairing minutes effectively? Etc...etc...etc... I'd love to hear your thoughts. Matt

MacT on the Oilers bottom six forwards: ""We had a lot of guys that the best they were going to be in any given game was a non-factor." Maybe there is hope in Edmonton? Finally, a guy in charge who doesn't believe Lennart Petrell is a legitimate roster player. |

Pretty good, but his +/- is terrible Is the Oilers D better on paper or in real life? Not sure how to answer this, cuz they're just bad Can Gagne be a legit top 6 forward? If these numbers keep up, then, ya. Second in scoring Can Hemmer stay healthy? For now Is there enough grit on this team to be truly competitive? If they make the playoffs, would they be hard to play against? No Which Ryan Whitney shows up this year? Mediochre one Can Petry take the next step and play top D pairing minutes effectively? Ehhh...
