I wanted Barch. I mean I really wanted Barch. We still need to address defense, but that's going to have to be a trade (unless we somehow sign Weber and lose all of those picks) Bouwmeester needs to get out of Calgary for sure, and I think he could rejuvenate his career here, but then who goes the other way (Anderson? Kindl? Cleary?) Or just watch us sign Jeff Finger..

Offense? I'd like to see Doan of course. Ryan Malone might be traded... But there just aren't any scorers out there. It's a mess, although I read that we're at the contract limit if you include Quincey and Abdelkader, so some kind of shakeup has to be in the works.

So far, I am disappoint.

Still no word on Doan. I know he wants a shot at the Cup, and I think that with Lidstrom and Stuart gone, he's just not going to want to come here. Our "performance" in the playoffs last year probably didn't help either.

Uh, Kenny-boy, time to do something here.

Really? You would give up two of the very few players on our team that understand what a bodycheck is, including our only net front presence (since Holmstrom will likely retire) not to mention a combined 41 goals and 48 assists last year just to get Nash? He only scored 30 last year. With an entire 82 games under his belt. Something neither Franzen or Cleary had. It would be way too much. Nash's production has steadily declined over the past 4 or 5 seasons. Just not worth it in my opinion.

Throw a sh!t load of money at Doan. Try to swindle a trade for Malone. And hope that Smith matures right away this season cause Holland missed every single boat when it comes to quality free agent defencemen. So detroit is pretty much screwed on that front.

Franzen is inconsistant as hell, and cleary is getting old. Nash for those two and a pick woulda been fine by me, not to mention nash plays for COLUMBUS, imagine him getting fed by pav.

Semin signed now, so who the hells left, doan anddddd, doan??

Holland sucks

Seems like nobody really wants to come to Detroit anymore, knowing full well they will not be backed up and protected. It is just so damn obvious, yet nobody can seem to get this into Holland's head.
Last season, with all the injuries, I really thought this "skill only" era would come to an end. Can you imagine what Z, Datsyuk, Franzen, and the rest of the skill guys could do if they weren't being steamrolled every shift of every game? These guys won't fight, and they shouldn't have to.
Some of the blame must go to the coaching, if they cried loud enough they would get protection, unless of course they have been told no for too long that they won't even try.
I just hope Tootoo has the green light to go, but within reason, he can only do so much. I am happy they signed him, at least.

I know this is nothing most of you don't know or have perhaps said already, I just needed to rant, and my wife doesn't give a toss about hockey, and my dog is tired of hearing it.
