They're gonna have to. They're over the cap already based on the current cap hit roster.

I don't think your breaking the news to anyone. It's good to see your finally finding that out though.

If the team doesn't listen to what the fans want and continues to play a boring European style of play, then sure they do. I sure know I would and I consider myself as passionate about my team as any other fan. It doesn't mean you have to hate the team per say, but you sure as hell don't have to support boring ass hockey.

And just think...

Detroit could have traded for a Belak last year for a pick and a salary saving cap dollar of 650K last year.

It's not because they couldn't, it because they dont WANT to...

who else do we have to cheer for? its not like there is another nhl team next door to detroit that we can switch too. i mean, we used to possess the two toughest guys to ever lace them up in probert and kocur. we were spoiled for years by them. in between we had guys like mckay, mcrae, mccarty, vial, grimson, etc. all we can do is sit back and hope that one day they sign somebody. until then there is nothing we can do but live in the past and talk about how we used to be the best in that department. at least we are starting to see baby steps being taken in that department. callahan is a tough kid and could legitimately make the team in a few years. of course th eideal situation would be for him to go to training camp, blow everyone away by his playing ability and toughness and crack the lineup but we know that wont happen.

how long has Colorado time to resign Cody McCormick , who is RFA?
I would like to see him or Josh Gratton for the wings-
I doubt they will go for a real heavyweight and one dimensional player like Fritz ,
so those guys would be a great start-

because i still have a sense of loyalty. believe me i know what your getting at and it makes sense. its just that every year there is always that hope that this will finally be the year they do something. of course im left dissapointed and pissed every year, but you never know. nothing lasts forever. this sissy brand of hockey played here will eventually pass and when it does i just hope im still alive to enjoy it.

have thought about this for a long time and if the Blues had to play Detroit's style to win a cup, I would be a bigger NFL fan for local sports and find another NHL team to root for ie Anaheim if I was in that boat and you can see almost every game for any team with the Center Ice Package.

i bet scott parker is available for $25 an hour. laugh all you want, but he is a huge fearsome ass kicker if that's what you need sitting at the end of the bench. remember detroit has a soft spot for neglected tough guys (kocur's second stint came after a year of playing senior mens league)
