Looks like the homers are out in full force even before the "season" even starts.
The Rangers have Rupp - a so-so HW, Bickell, and MW's Aging Asham and unproven Haley (last years "darling" on here). The Isles now have Carkner and Boults. Martin shouldn't even be in a discussion. He's a serviceable MW at best. Carkner coming off a pretty carppy year. 4 FM's with the only good opponent being Looch, who he lost to. Boulton is a decent HW, but he goes up and down too. Truth is we won't know who is the "toughest" team until this sham of a season starts... and even then, what is the criteria? Reluctantly I'd have to say on paper it's still the Bruins.

I don't know why everyone thinks Haley is going to be with the Rangers, I doubt he sees NHL time considering Asham and Rupp already have the fourth line locked up. I agree, the Bruins still take it.

Isles are toughest hands down.
No team in league can match Boulton and Carkner on the same team. Healey is not in the same league as these two veteran monsters. Crazy story of the Isles who went from one of the toughest teams in the league to one of the most pussified. And back to the toughest. Isles fans must feel like on a rollercoaster This season will be good for us fight fans I can feel it

Asham is starting the season suspended I believe. Haley may very well skate in his place during that time.

Well then it may be all we'll see of Haley if it is even him that plays.
But I'd bet he gets into a scrap, especially if the Rangers do end up playing the Bruins which I heard earlier. |

So far, a Sabres fan says the Sabres are the toughest, the Bruins fan says it's the Bruins, a Blue Jackets fan says his team will lead in FMs, and the Rangers fans are saying they have the toughest team. I see this part of the forum is back to normal. Throw my hat into the ring for the Flyers. Or the Bruins since they'll probably win more fights.

So now Boulton is a force. When he was with the Devils he was never mentioned. I think the Isles are the toughest though. Devils with Barch, Janssen, Carter, Salvador and Clarkson are not far behind. Now that I think about it the Devils are right next to the Bruins for the East.

I think there's more to having a tough team than having a couple of fighters on your 4th line. The B's have guys willing to drop the mitts throughout the lineup. Hell, even Paille and Seidenburg had scraps last year. I know the Northeast pretty much all added toughness because of the B's. Habs overpayed for Prust, Sabres picked up Scott and Ott, etc.

By that logic the 2011-2012 Sabres were as tough as the Bruins because 14 guys on each team had FM's? Thorts had 33% of all Bruins fights. Your logic doesn't add up.
