Thornton got KTFO in his last fight and got shelved while MacDermid is back in the AHL. Carkner has also been out for the Islanders for a bit.
In the meantime the Leafs are getting Brown back. Tonight's game might have Colton Orr, Mike Brown, Frazer McLaren and Mark Fraser all in. No team can match that Fab-Four.

chara barely ever fights and honestly isn't very good.lucic is a badass but he isn't fighting much and has an important role like chara. thornton, mcquaid and horton all have concussion issues. campbell is willing, but that's it. |

This one is easy Buffalo
All they need is John Scott the undefeated HW champ. No one in the NHL comes close to this boy. Lucic ran away from Colton Orr so you know he's not going after Scott and Thorton wakes up every night with John Scott Nightmares. Orr has too many KO losses to go ttt with the big guy. The point is you don't need a team of fighters just one monster will do the trick. No one on this thread can name a player that would go and start a fight with Scott. I remember Asham on the Flyers skating away from Orr on the leafs and no Flyer came to his aid. All you need is Scott dressed and on the bench and the other team won't take any cheap shots.

Hope you are joking...otherwise you are a joke.

You're the Joke
A post with no substance. Which team and name it's player thats going to skate up to John Scott and then get his ba*ls beat off. So far No one has done that. You have every team except Buffalo plese name the the player who would drop his gloves and get 5 minutes for sleeping. Who has beat Scott? Who would give him a challenge? If you don't think the rest of the League saw what he did to Thorton you should start watching the NBA.

I'm a Sabres fan... You are strictly a Scott fan, is that correct? I just want to head off any "Sabres homer" talk that will undoubtedly follow. Anyway, that being said.... I do believe that Scott has brought a whole new level of toughness to the Sabres. I also agree that 1 monster can neutralize the whole "team toughness" aspect. IMO having 3 or 4 brawlers ala the Leafs trumps the whole notion of being semi- tough throuout the whole lineup.

No I'm not a Buffalo Fan or a Scott fan
I just call it as I see it. What happened in the above fights you mentioned as I did not see it. I am An Islander fan but I call it as honestly as I can. Would I love the toughest team to be the Islanders of course but I know no Islander would last 30 seconds with Scott and Until I see Scott lose a fight not a wrestling match I believe no one can get the better of him and infact I think few are willing to try. IMHO.

Just watched them
Fight1) Parros -It was a good fight but after watching it I agree with the consenses which had Scott winning 44% to 32%. I do give Parros credit for ending up on his feet.
Fight 2) Orr- This fight must of been from the the Buffalo announsers as they state Scott went down on no hit from Orr. I disagree, Scott was winning up until the point he went down and I did see Orr hit him. Scott knocked off his helmet and was having his way but the fight wasn't over until Orr dropped him. So I do apologize to the thread and retract my statement that Scott has never been beaten. I will say both his oppents looked a little scared when both fights were started by scott. I still think he's the best in the NHL and I think he beats Orr if they go again although losing to orr in a close fight is nothing to be embarrassed about. However thank you Jack for setting me straight. |

Having 4 enforcers sure does beat half the league that barely have one. And as sad as it may sound, after those 4 the Leafs still have Komisarek and Phanuef who are willing from time to time. Given they suck at it!

If you want to be taken seriously, don't say things like "Thornton has nightmares about Scott". Even the biggest Bruin haters here (like me) respect Shawn Thornton and to do otherwise makes you look like a clown. The guy is a warrior, has fought everybody, hasn't ducked anybody and does his job as well as any enforcer in the NHL. He didn't have to fight Scott. He gave away 7" and 60#s. That's allot to ask of anybody. Thornton has fought and did quite well against guys like Boogard,Brashear and LaRaque, guys that would feed Scott his lunch. Scott beat Thornton, no doubt, pretty handedly, but you know what? It happens. Herb freaking Raglin Ko'd Joey Kocur once. Thornton will fight Scott again, it's inevitable. My guess is Thornton will do much better. Scott will never be as dominant as his size would indicate because A- he's a college player and fighting is still relatively new to him and B- unlike Boogard, in real life the guy is a big teddy bear without a mean bone in his body and unlike guys like Boogard and Orr, he doesn't particularly enjoy fighting. He does it because it's his only way to play in the NHL. In my opinion, he'd be happy being a Hal Gill type player if he could. Second bit of advice....stop taking spelling lessons from Smash'em....Lol. My God you're English is awful....
