With extra grit with Dowell, Clutterbuck, Powe, and Falk who decided to finally use his size and hit guys.

Palmieri ****ing sucks, if they play him i expect him to use all 230 lbs to kill bitches.
Other than in maybe Chicago if Bollig dresses, where in the West do they find any fights? That's what I don't pick Konopka as a league leader in fights this year.

The only real deterrent here is Kassian, Stoner and Konopka aren't going to scare anyone into not playing the way they were going to.

Sorry guys, didn't mean to pee in anyone's cheerios, just making a point that the "toughest" teams don't always drop the gloves, Los Angeles being the latest example.

It sure would be nice to return to the 80's and 90's when there were loads of fights in the playoffs, brawls, etc but with the shortened season, fighting will be at a premium I think with more emphasis on winning games and getting off to a fast start, more like the playoff mentality.

Which means, I don't think teams loaded with guys who fight are going to do that well. I hope I'm wrong.

Would love to see Minnesota vs NY Islanders for the Stanley Cup!

agreed "more" fun to watch. Finley is gone now though. I have seen Tarnasky a few times in Rochester this year and he is definitely capable, not a punching bag. Foligno won't go more than 5 times all year and he is no threat. Don't get me started on Kaleta, turtles call him a turtle. I would love to see Scott stay up. Boston, to a man, can handle anything buffalo will bring except Scott, but the games will be much more interesting tan the last few years.

On the subject. The Isles look to be the toughest. The rags and bruins close behind.

What does Finley and Tarnasky have to do with this? They are ahlers. Don't forget McCormick and Ott. Sabres definitely improved their toughness by far but the toughest team.....no. One of toughest yes.

What does this have to do with the Wild "owning" the west?

My team is decent in toughness this year:

Burish, Clowe, McLaren, Murray, and Petrecki are all on the roster

I expect some exciting match-ups with Minnesota and Anaheim, who I see as the two toughest teams out west.

The leafs look good this year....Orr, Brown, Komisarek, Phaneuf, Fraser....plus a system under carlyle that encourages physical play.

Yeah, I know guys like komisarek and phaneuf are by no means heavyweights but they play a physical game and are decent fighters within their weight classes.

Not sure witch team but id probably say cbj, as i dont count it as tough if you have a john scott on your roster and he plays 5 games all season, everybody who says buffallo has got to be kidding, i mean they could prove me wrong but as i see it steve ott is there only fighter in 90% of there games. the CBJ will have boll and dorsett dressed every night and either guy would fight anybody in the leauge win or lose, plus they can skate and cause havoc because of it.

everybody on this site chirps the west for not having "HEAVYS". but most of the big heavyweights of the east are scratched all the time anyways and theres no grit through most rosters.

every team in the west has a heavy or light heavy who plays every night to go along with a middleweight who plays every night and the rosters essecially bluelines all have more grit. with the exepttion of the nyr bruins and flyers the east is a joke.

Lol wow you obviously don't know sabres players. They are definitely a lot tougher than the blue jackets. Don't forget how kaleta killed dorsett too.

The East is a joke?

The East is stacked with WAY more fighters than the West. Not even close right now.
