It's hard to believe simmonds is being discussed on a fight page. And compared with Lucic? Not being sarcastic at all when I say it's like saying Eminem can beat Brock Lesnar one on one.

So comparing two power fowards is like comparing a rapper and a wrestler?

Yeah I don't know how this reached twelve pages, however:
I'm not even sure how much Wayne Simmonds weighs anymore.. hockeyfights has him at 160 Hockeydb has him at 175 tsn and the nhl have him at 183 Wikipedia has him at 209 Back to the point of the thread. I don't think Wayne Simmonds is the best pound for pound fighter, i'd give that to Adam McQuaid at 6'4 197, he could beat anyone of the same weight or similar weight currently in the league. I'm not saying Wayne Simmonds couldn't do this as well, I just believe McQuaid to be the better fighter.

I don't like players like that either. I'd take Alex Burrows and Maxine Lapierre on my team over Wayne Simmonds anyday. **Fuking Shoot me.

Before more people overreact to canuck2, please note he only watches the playoffs. And my man Wayne has been doing the chirping and agitating for the Flyers the last couple games. I can see how that would be misinterpreted by the untrained eye.
As for the thread subject, if he really is as slim as he was coming into the league with his chicken legs he warrants some discussion amongst the smaller guys as he has a phenomenal winning percentage and finishes people. Only time will tell with his career as he piles up more scraps hopefully keeping up an average of 10 (or more!) a season. Hopefully he bangs with some people we want to compare him to so we aren't stuck with fantasy theoretical nonsense. His style of play is the future of fighting in the NHL. He is an asset picking up PIMs or not. |
