what about Colton Orr? I'm an Aussie and won't pretend to be knowledgable about the game but he seems to have good skills as well as laying some big hits and fights real well.
Bob Probert was an old favorite of mine back when we used to be able to watch hockey on tv here |

modern day all those mentioned before but i am suprised Zdeno Chara hasn't been mentioned?
old school vs now is pretty telling on this topic....take Terry O'Reilly....he has over 200 career NHL fights and went with anyone and in his best year he had 90 points and led his team in PIM's and fighting majors in the same season....that is more points than most current fighters will get in their career....just a different league i guess there are still guys that can play well and fight well just not as many....its a much more specialized league |

People really underrate George Parros as a player. I see him play a good amount of times each year and he has gradually gotten better each year. He's able to take a regular shift without being a liability easily. He can skate and throw hits. His offensive skills aren't overly great, but they're good enough to get him by.

I'll be a homer and say Rick Rypien, has to be one of the better pound for pound guys, good boxing heritage with a twist of mma training.
Shows no fear seems to be picking on guys 50lbs + in weight let alone a good 6" + in height than he is, stands his ground good fighting tactics etc. Now aside from fighting, he's a pretty speedy player adds a certain lacking spark to the Canucks when they need a lift (which is quite often), think he'll start putting up a few points finally instead of always being in the press box etc. Other than Rypien I must say I also like Parros for the same reason as others have stated.

Colton Orr does not get enough credit as a player. As a Pens fans, I've seen him play often and he is a much better player than Eric Godard. They both have talent but one is better than the other. Erskine and Walker each play 15-20 minutes a game (when healthy). I can't think of any other HW's with that kind of TOI. Shawn Thornton comes close but I think he is around 12-15 min TOI.
