It's top 10 heavyweights. If you have Boll on your top 10 list that means you'd put your money on Boll in a fight with guys like Shawn Thornton, Ivanans, Shelley, Hordichuk, Lucic, etc.

But the top 10 fighters in the league ARE heavyweights.

So yes, actually it is top 10 heavyweights because they are the best fight class in the league. If there were middleweights that were better, then wouldn't they be heavyweights?

The point is, no middleweight should be in someone's top 10 list, because the top 10 fighters in the league could destroy any middleweight.

You put Boll instead of guys like Brashear, Koci, Peters, Belak, Parker, Ivanans, and Hordichuk. You would really pick Boll in a fight over them?

And besides, Boll isn't a top 10 fighter. His record is 5-8-2 this year. He fights a lot, but he's not good... just because he has a big fight card doesn't make him good.

I usually think of you as a knowledgable poster nyr2, but your list is VERY questionable to say the least.

This year, as we speak. One through three are all close. If we'd actually get an exciting fight out of the top three, it would be a whole lot easier.

1. Donald Brashear - KD win against Laraque. Crap fight against Laraque and McGrattan.
2. Georges Laraque - close second and third to McGrattan.
3. Brian McGrattan - ready to claim the top spot. Needs to fight one of the top two guys again (and he will get the opportunity).
4. Derek Boogaard - needs to get healthy soon.
5. Eric Godard - hasn't fought in almost a month.
6. D.J. King - best win % the past two years of just about any fighter. Only two losses coming to Boogie.
7. Wade Belak - doesn't fight much; but doesn't lose either.
8. George Parros - inconsistent; but has won more than he has lost.
9. Andre Roy - big surprise this year. Has beat and hung in against some of the bigger heavies.
10. Raitis Ivanans - no losses; but very weak card for a heavy

Wrong, top 10 fighters. Not heavyweights. You even said Lucic who is not a heavy.

Ok first off everyone is in an uproar over a list I did on new years morning. Let's relax. You should all be happy Sidney Crosby wasn't #1 on my list. Being that he is 1-0

And anyway, Belak, Parker, Ivanans, and Hordi, while I like them all, belong nowhere near a top 10 list IMO. Belak is making a comeback and Parker at one time certainly was.

And let's stop with the middleweights/heavyweights on this list. It's top 10. If Cam Janssen was playing this year he would be all over peoples lists like he was last year. It's who you think is the top 10. Not who you think would beat another guy in a fight. Those are completely seperate threads.

i disagree...that is what a top 10 thread is. basically if you list some guy above another guy your saying in a 10 fight series the guy above would probably win more than he loses, or at least split the series. of course top 10 is related to who would win a fight. when i put mgrattan in front of brashear its because i think mgrattan would win a 10 fight series.

To me, there is a top ten fighters list and a top ten season list. As long as you state which one you are going for, it's all good.

That's fine. That's your criteria. Mine isn't the same. And since there is no set way to put up the list, everyone will have their own way of doing it. Same goes for the all-time list.

For example, Brashear will never appear on my list. I don't like him, I don't like his style, and I have no respect for him as a fighter. I actually feel the same for Laraque, but he is "the champ" so I have to put him up there. If Brash was the champ I would probably do the same, but he isn't and with his career ending soon I shouldn't ever have to make that happen.

Haven't done one of these in awhile, and mid-season seems like a good time to do one.

1. Georges Laraque
2. Donald Brashear
3. Brian McGrattan
4. Derek Boogaard
5. D.J. King
6. Eric Godard
7. Colton Orr
8. Shawn Thornton
9. Wade Belak
10. George Parros
